 Re: Sony Playstation 3
My final time for a playthough on normal was just a hair over 11 hours. I pretty much played it over 3 separate days.
I'm way over 11 hours now, as I'm going back for trophies. I really, really like the options and unlocks for replaying the single player. All the single player skins, unlocking any weapon, no gravity mode, one shot kills... make it really fun to go back through and earn those. Nothing like playing it again as fat Drake and unlimited RPG ammo... I was really bummed to hear that Uncharted 3 does not have those features. With the decent multiplayer, I really will probably be playing this until the 15th when I have Halo and Saints Row 3 in my paws. After the 15th, I'll be like "what's an Uncharted?"

I doubt it'll be much more than a pick up and play very briefly here and there, but I've already done that more than 2 times. So far, it's a good game for when I only got 15 minutes or so to play a game and don't want to get into anything too serious. In that way, it reminds me of an arcade style game.

I liked the first game but the second one seems to be lacking however not as badly as Crackdown 2 was. Played a lot more of Infamous... definitely like it, don't love it, but like it. Anyhow... just curious what was wrong or not completely right with 2?

inFamous 2 is great. You start off with just about every power you concluded the last game with. If you liked the first game then theres no reason you wouldn't like the second as it is better in every way.

 Re: Sony Playstation 3
I'll definitely give the second one a shot. I just finished the first one, and am a little on the fence.
I liked it early on, when I was on the first island, but by the second island the difficulty ramped up out of nowhere and a few of the missions were a little frustrating. The side missions got tedius/repetitive, and I quit doing them after I cleared out the first island, and about 70% of the second.
Story was decent, and had a few ok twists and turns, but had trouble caring about any of the characters. I thought the world was on the bland side, and graphics were average... character models were on the ugly side.
But, the powers and the game mechanics were fun, and it did keep my playing it for at least 20 hours, so that's something. It was a solid B.
Interesting though that you say I2 is better in every way, and Roid says it's worse.... hmmmm.....

It wasnt that Infamous 2 is a bad game but in terms of excitement for it, it felt more like Bioshock 2 was to Bioshock 1. Thank goodness Bioshock Infinite is going in the right direction. The worst drop for a game sequel would be for Crackdown 2 is to Crackdown 1

 Re: Sony Playstation 3
See, I also like Bioshock 2 better than the first. The first was way scarier, sure. The biggest improvement from 1 to 2 - no plumbing! That was the worst lock pick system. So while the atmosphere was better in part 1, the gameplay was better in 2. I do agree that Infinite looks amazing.
A new playstation exclusive called The Last of Us will be coming soon. Developed by Naughty Dog! PS3 has to go all out with the exclusives knowing Halo 4 is coming next year.

 Re: Sony Playstation 3
Bioshock 2 was good, but it didn't have the fresh feeling of Bioshock 1, and the plot was better in B1. With 2 they just couldn't recapture that magic.
Crackdown 2 definitely had problems in the plot and missions department, but the core gameplay was still really fun and it's easily one of the best mindless playground sandbox games. It went from A+ for C1 to an admittedly generous B+ to C2 in my book. Perhaps a bigger drop off than Bioshock for me, but definitely not the biggest of all time.
Out of curiosity, checking metacritic... Bioshock 2 was an 8 point drop (96 to 88), Crackdown 2 a 13 point drop (83 to 70), and Infamous 2 a 2 point drop (85 to 83).

It'd be nice if Amazon Prime had a better library. I'm personally hoping for HBO GO access.

I agree and they need a better organization or search of films because it's practically impossible to really find something unless you want to view screen after screen. They need an instantwatcher resource like Netflix.

 Re: Sony Playstation 3
Sony put a "Will vengeance bring redemption" banner up on facebook, teasing a new blockbuster that many believe will be God of War 4. I could also see it being a sequel to Red Dead Redemption based on the wording and popularity of that game, but that wouldn't be a ps exclusive.

Re-pre-ordered Black Ops 2 Hardened Edition from gamestop. Looking forward to campaign, multi and most especially Zombies.

 Re: Sony Playstation 3
Just purchased a PS3,the Uncharted 3 bundle and also grabbed Uncharted 1 and 2.
Joined the Playstation network thing (free, so far) and got InFAMOUS 2, Little Big Planet 2, Ratched and Clank All 4 One, and Darksiders.
Anything else that I really need? Not counting multiplatform games (Skyrimm, Call of Duty, Sports, Battlefield, stuff like that). I am thinking about picking up Heavy Rain and Resistance 3 and other games.

 Re: Sony Playstation 3
Twisted Metal's online is hella fun. Journey is wonderful, and cheap. The God of War Saga is also a must-own.
And I haven't played it yet, but Valkyria Chronicles is supposed to be the best ps3 exclusive rpg.
