Havent done these game predictions in a while(last one was GTA 4). WOW Lich King currently holds the record for pc 1st day sales of 3.4 million. WOW itself had over 500,000 in its first day of release. I think it could break that record especially with Korea being taken into account. I wonder if its enough to shatter GTA 4's record given that pc sales havent been really that high in a long time

I know so little about this game or the series, plus I know almost nothing of PC sales and figures.

However, I've been hearing so much about this game, even on mainstream news sites, I know it must be a big deal-eo.

WoW seems like a good bench mark then, so I'll go with that figure plus a little - 3.5 million.

For a hyped game like that it is IMO, but im sure korea numbers will be staggering, people even marry that game there.

That is disappointing considering the hype. Even the World of Warcraft games did better with expansions and I think SC2's numbers are barely higher than Sims 3 launch while the latter appeals to more casual fans

Comparing StarCraft to WOW ain't fair at all. RTS hasn't been a popular genre in like forever, while MMO is the most popular genre in PC gaming. Not to mention, WOW had established players when its expansions came out, hence the fact that the expansions broke PC gaming sales records.

I wanna know how many sold in S.Korea alone.

Im using that because they are both by Blizzard. Besides, before World of Warcraft, the most popular MMO was Everquest and that had under 500k in subscribers. The original WOW had over 700k units sold the first day and that was like 5 years ago. I wont include Lineage because back then it was a free game but even that one wasnt that popular until it rode the coattails of WOW popularity

For a PC exclusive RTS those are great numbers any way you slice it.
