Well, after 14 years and $15m, it could've far been worse. It's certainly an ambitious album. Axl is trying many new things. Sometimes he strikes gold (Better, This I Love), other times, not so much (If the World). Expectedly, the album is overproduced big time. A song like Catcher in the Rye doesn't even have a chance to breathe beneath all those guitar trakcs.

7.5/10.

Favorite tracks: Better, Madagascar, There was a Time, This I Love, and Street of Dreams.

Not nearly as bad as i was expecting. Not close to older Guns N' Roses, but a pretty decent effort after so much time and turmoil.

As a huge GN'R fan, I do not consider this to be Guns N' Roses. This is an Axl Rose solo album and I have it labeled as such in my iTunes library. That being said, it's pretty solid. It's basically Axl's solo version of Use Your Illusion III. There are some duds for sure, but there is also some great material as well. The climax of There Was A Time is incredible.

Demo version is better than the studio version, which had too much synth shit added.
