Spoiler: show Spoiler: show So we have already started merge/reduction of some of the forums. Look out for the archive link/sub-forum at the bottom of the forum's Index Page. Feel free to give your suggestions here or in any of the threads created in respective/merged sub-forums. |

I must ask .. why? Does it save money? If we are merging forums wouldn’t it make more sense to fuse Cinemania and Everyone’s A Critic. |

I think it's more to drive more discussion to both forums. Especially with how small our community currently is. |

As Chippy mentioned its to bring focus on a single forum given the reducing community size. There is no cost saving involved here. |

I don't know. I mean, anyone that comes here is going to go to either. Same with any sub category. Then it just becomes sloppy like Box office Theory. You're basically turning a diner menu into the one from My Cousin Vinny that is "Breakfast or Lunch" I don't see changing the layout as getting more traffic. Why not try more on free marketing contests, social media, and Weekly articles., and good god, get some simple video content. An easy start would be to copy Mojo's old Box Office Game, not just a thread game. KJ has become lazier than AJ Soprano. |

Thank you for your suggestions Gun. We are pretty much open to any suggestions and help from our members. I think there is a video channel that Shack has created. If you feel like please contribute there. Its not just moderators job to promote this community. Everyone can help contribute. |

My clips channel has 76,000 views so far all with a link at the bottom to the forum, so I can't really ask for better free advertising. Unfortunately people don't like signing up for a low traffic forum with a meaningless name, it doesn't really matter how many people see the site. My recent strategy is to direct them to the main site first to see if it makes us seem more legitimate |

This is the place to discuss the latest trailers, give us YOUR reviews on the movies you have seen and talk about whatever is relevant in the world of Hollywood Sub-forum: Countdown to the Oscars |

I think EAC should stay a forum in itself, it will get very cluttered if movie titles are intervened with general topics. |

I like Cinemania and Trailer Park as a starting point. There can be a thread in Cinemania called "The Trailer thread" |

I would think Cinemania and Box Office should remain distinct. |

Trailer and Cinemania is a great idea. Everyone's a Critic could be renamed to just reviews. All the titles could be cleaned up. Even if something simple like. I always did like Trailer Park, but it can easily be merged. Even the Oscars can get merged in. Movie Talk Box Office Reviews Sports Whatever the hell else there is (TV, Politics, all that shit can get merged in) Games/ Contests/ Weekly Articles Site/ HR And probably not a bad idea to put whatever the article/ Game of the week is as the first thing with an image above the threads. Make that for polls, box office clubs. It could be as simple as get a box office game in the forefront and make a weekly thing. Then make a Twitter with daily box office/ movie history factoid) |

We could eliminate Video Games and Literature. If you want to talk about a video game or book do it in the Water Cooler. Politics is also pointless |

Good points from all. Thanks for the feedback. I now think the following would work: 1. Cinemania incorporating the Trailer Park and Countdown to the Oscars (one merged forum) - good suggestion thegun. 2. Critic/Reviews remains as is 3. Watercooler possibly incorporating Politics, Video Games and Literature 4. TV remains as is 5. Box Office remains as is |

I dig it. I always feel like loser when I post in the game forum until Corpse or PE respond. |

Box Office remains as is I would prefer the Oscars being separate honestly, there is a lot of threads during the season (Critics awards etc.) that would clutter up another forum - plus it allows us to keep the forum description tradition TV can be tweaked where Ratings and Trailers are part of the main forum (a Ratings thread and a Trailers thread). The dead DVD forum can obviously go as well |

The Oscars are not that heavily trafficked, Having it in one spot would really help. When working with a website, the best way to build traffic is to condense. That way any newcomers just looking at one topic might be more inclined to look at other ones right there. Outside of the event, everything else is usually months old in that sub forum. I'm not sure how the server on this site works. But you can do something where under Cinemania there is something like a hot topic that they click on before they even go to Cinemania. Something like the most visited thread of the day. I mean does there really need to be individual Oscar Category threads? People don't want to post in every thread anymore. Have one Sticky Oscar Thread in Cinemania and be done with it. We don't need polls where at best 7 people respond. If anything the only addition I'd suggest would be how Lecter use to just post every comingsoon.net net thread and do a daily news update. It really would just be getting people adjusted to a new format and not posting |

Still favor rolling Oscar threads into Cinemania but think the Foreign and Independent Films sub-thread should remain a sub-thread. |

Surprised to find out The Trailer Park forum is gone. There was active posting there. It should have been kept and filed under Cinemania. |
