Overeager thread-creating, yes? Am I a fan of so many threads at once? No. But spam? Nope. They threads themselves are legit.

I enjoy them a lot.

Sadly, a lot of people here don't watch movies made before 2005.

You're right. None of us joined this forum before 2005.

Over many many years on WOKJ I have learned one thing. If you really don't like multiple threads - don't post in them. They'll disappear on their own. If they don't, well, then they are popular enough to be where they are.

No, translation: I decided I am keeping it there and there ain't anything you can do about it.

I like Lecter because I find we typically arrive at the same conclusions on issues. He's right, just calm down and let nature take it's course. Maybe even participate, find a few movies you haven't seen that you can check out. Or don't, and ignore them.

Except because David and Lecter and Eagle are fine with these 25 threads of the same topic, so many other good individual topics are now pushed to pages 2 th 4 in there, almost being buried alive. And if David does this again, they will be on pages 3 to 5, and totally forgotten about. You know I hate to agree with Chippy but he is right. Too bad the higher ups refuse to actually work at correcting he problem. Talk about being short sighted or just lazy?

And if he higher ups aren't bothered by these threads, I guess I could find about 30 great individual years to post from 1930 to 1979 in the Cinemania section. For starters at least.

I am amazed that people still care.

I actually don't care. I just wanted to annoy people by complaining.

Post subject:  Re: Spam In The Cinemania

No need to complain. You already annoy people by just breathing.

You can't hear me breathe.

I only care cause I have to look on pages 3 and on for recent weekly threads. Something that most people won't do. And something that the higher ups here don't care about as they let David start as many threads as he wants, whether or not people want to have them or not. maybe "someone" should go to pages 3, 4 and 5 etc and bump up the threads that got push back because the way David dumped his threads into the section.

You really want to read those threads from last Thursday?

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down, Goldie. Algren shares the blame!

Usually come on twice a week, and want to check out what others said. And that is how you learn things, Chippy, reading what others post.

OK, as I only saw yours originally on the first page. But also did ou also do them second after he did his. That is bad also as there are just too many threads there, IMO, of course.

It was not only bad because David made so many all at once, but it was very poor forum etiquette to usurp the idea of another member. Algren had a good idea and was implementing it at a decent pace - - a healthy injection of interesting content for KJ, imho - - but then David first tried to jam his lists for other years in the first thread, and then tried to swipe an entire decade. Then despite my suggestion, he went on to make another slew of threads.

I participated in Algren's initial threads, but I will not be supporting David's rude behavior by participating in his.

As to the organization of it all, I wouldn't mind seeing a sub-forum created just to house these annual list threads - - I think they make a fine addition to the WOKJ.

Agree on all of the above, especially the sub forum, but Lecter and Eagle are opposed and didn't see the good in this, for some wierd reason.
