Imho, it is unacceptable to tell people not to watch a movie, especially for a moderator of a movie discussion board. It is one thing to write a scathing review, to give your honest opinion about how terrible you believe a movie is, and allow them to decide whether they wish to see it dependant on their previous experience with your taste in movies - - it is another thing altogether to instruct people not to see the movie at all and never have a chance to form their own opinion. I have reported this transgression to the site owner Eagle, and have every expectation that we will not see this egregious behavior repeated. |

Bradley, I thought your complaint over, and I can't agree with it's conclusions. First and foremost, our moderators are members first, moderators second. I want all of them posting and enjoying the forum as they would without the responsibility, it's why I'm taking on the role I am. Regarding the thread itself, I don't think anyone took it as instruction (I read the headline as tounge-in-cheek, not a literal mandate). In fact, if you look through the thread, many users expressed their desire to see the film anyways. I think we're smart enough to take the thread for what it was, an opinion, and read it as such. Now, if all members went about making a thread for their opinions on a specific film, that would be an issue. We have a forum for that. In this instance, a member was able to see an anticipated film before it's domestic release, which in some instances can make a thread sharing the resulting feelings useful. We've done it in the past, and given the slower nature of the Cinemania forum right now, I struggle to find any issues with it. I realize this isn't the answer you're looking for, but I hope the feedback and explanation helps. If you have any additional concerns, please don't hesitate to drop me another line. Karl |

Never listen to Germans. Hasn't Elie Wiesel taught us anything? |

I think Eagle's phony response is worse than Bradley's current episode of daftness. |

Bradley clear owns stock in News Corp and is losing money from Rupert's hacking scandal and, more importantly, Dr. Lecter's advice to skip This Means War. |
