Post The troublemaking
Okay it is actually stupid that several of you can't behave better than fifth-graders and I have to post this, but...ah well.

Anyway, it is obvious that a few folks here just like to annoy a lot of the rest. Spamming, following, making snide comments and such. There's a fine difference between doing it in a mocking but accepted manner or just doing it to piss someone off all the time. Frankly, I do think that message boards need some drama from time to time. Which is why I do not come down hard on all the fighting. As long as some lines aren't crossed and it's a simple "You're an asshole" and "You're a retard" back 'n forth from time to time...fine.

However when arguing of this kind starts to pollute the whole boards - this is when things get out of control. And by that I mean that other posters get annoyed and start frequenting the boards less and less. And I am talking of those who are not even involved in the fighting but those who are tired to see all that shit around.

Obviously Argos, snack and yoshue could care less. Yoshue's alltime favorite is of course "it's just the internet, pfft." However, fact is that if people are leaving the boards then it makes a difference. I want some civil discussions and co-existing here and not just bitterness, cynicism and arguing all around. And for that I need some of the reasonable posters to still be here. Therefore I will not allow for all this to thrive. I do have a sense of humor and I believe that under no other admin would you have faced less reprecussions than under my rule so far. However, there are limits to everything.

Maverikk, on the other hand, likes to always bring up the "terrible state of the forums" in every other of his posts. Maybe the first or the second time it is a valid concern but after the 20th time it frankly gets annoying. I don't know how it seems to others, but to me it seems like you enjoy to revel in scandals and fights here only to point your finger at them. It is true that there are unprovoked attacks on you. However there are also several instances in which you get in fights with people who usually cause no trouble elsewhere. Over the past FIVE years on these boards I can't remember a span of three months during which you were NOT in a big fight with someone. Think about it...do you think that over all these years it was always "the others' fault"?

I said that as long as it is just arguing between you and the attackers in the vein of "You fucktard" or "you moron", I won't step in. One insults, the other retorts. As long as there are no very personal comments or racist comments I'll keep observing the situation but will not step in. However creating entire threads on the matter (the Stooges thread, the yoshue/mod thread) is just calling for more trouble and more arguing. There's little doubt that you actually want to fight with them. I will not, however, allow the boards to be polluted by that.

So this is to all four of you. I don't want to see this kind of culture thriving here. I see threads that contribute to it, I'll lock them, I'll delete posts that are out of line. More sitrring shit will lead to the well-known consequences of changed avatars/signatures. Moreover I'll temporarily take away thread-creating privileges when the situation requires it. Unlike what some of you here might think I have no preferences when administrating the boards. Of course I personally like some posters more than others - I am human afterall. But I will try not to let this influence my judgement. That means that whoever causes to much shit here will live with the consequences.

Now funny thing is that I know that the posters concerned don't give a damn about what I have written above. I am not foolish enough to believe that. However, it needed to be said so that next time something happens you'll know why.

And yoshue, if you have issues with me and my admin job then get the balls to finally say it in my face and don't refer to them in a third-person mater or somewhere else. I know you like to suck Argos' and snack's balls, but those two do mention their issues and their discontent straight-up - so maybe you should too.

In any case, it is annoying that I have to deal with some 5th-grade behavior. It is obvious that you all dislike several posters here a lot. That's of course nothing forbidden...but to try and behave in a more civil way about it is hardly too much to ask.

Get off your goddamn high horse, Lecter. Show me ONE FUCKING EXAMPLE of me starting any fights. I went to you several times about those morons constantly following me around causing trouble, and you did NOTHING but excuse it. I'll handle my own battles since you decided that I bring it on myself. Post ONE time where I started a fight. JUST ONE! After all, you can't remember a span of 3 months without me getting in a fight, so it won't be hard, huh?

When you can't, then you can fuck off, because I'm done with you after this shit.

I meant under no other of the admins we have had so far. That.

I didn't even look very hard. Even if slightly baited you never failed to fall for it and start an argument. And if you'll now mention that I am biased towards Argos/snack/yoshue - :funny:

However, even after I have shown you a few examples (which you'll of course deny), you can feel free to be done with me. I know that you're can very well be different in private than you are on here but your condescending message boards persona isn't winning points with me. What it comes down to, in the end, is that if you really don't like it here, don't like the admin, don't like the mods - well, then you are always free to go.

Good call about the 'sad state of the forums', Artur. Mav has been bitching about it since about October 13th, 2004.

My take

Maverikk is your classic heel. I think he makes this forum better. He's a charasmatic villain in the vein of the Joker

Yoshue's film knowledge is rather extensive and he is one of the more humorous posters here. Another good poster

Argos is just kind of there for me

Snack is the worst poster I have encountered in the history of BOM, WOKJ, BOF, or filmgasm. If Philip Seymour Hoffman took a crap, ate his crap, then crapped it out again, that would be the equivalent of snack on a message board. He is vanerial disease on two fronts. First of all, a thread list that looks like this: http://worldofkj.com/forum/viewforum.ph ... &start=750 If I see one more "um... kypade" or "hi box" thread I may have to kill someone. It's not funny. It's not entertainingly evil like Maverikk. It's just annoying.

Secondly, the movie snob superiority complex, insult everyone else's tastes act he is, is hilariously transparent. Here's the deal with snobbery. You sort of need a license to snob. Makeshift has a higher Movie IQ than anyone. Yoshue has comprehensive old movie knowledge and has a sublimeness to his tastes and opinions. These guys have earned the ability to talk from a movie pedastal, because they read films more astutely than most. Snack has no justification for the superiority complex he has. The first thing that comes to mind with snack's movie opinions is that he thinks The Savages is a masterpiece and predictably hates anything mainstream and loves anything not mainstream. Whoopidee do. You need to have respect to start talking down to people, otherwise you just look like a d-bag. Snack is the movie equivalent of a wigger. You can try to act as superior as you want, but words are only words. Everyone can see right through it.

Snack is the evolutionary Jon Savage. Both score about an 11 out of 10 on the trying too hard to be a kypade/makeshift/yoshue scale. I much prefer Jon Savage. He seems like a nice guy, doesn't spam, and doesn't delve into terrible minimalist garbage typing.

I cannot appreciate the exuberant averageness Shack's 'take' is sodden with. However, it is nice to see Igor gone, even though Dr. Lecter is still here.

Hard to disagree, indeed.

But don't worry about those "Um...kypade" threads anymore. I noticed that as well and I have a feeling that their number will shrink in the future.
