Announcement

The voting from the nomination thread has been totaled, and the top three are:

Torrino -- 19 votes
Corpse -- 15 votes
Argos -- 15 votes

MikeQ. has been eliminated with only 12 votes. I'd like to personally thank MikeQ for running for office. He's a great person, a great poster and he would have made a terrific admin for the forum. Thanks Mike.

Secondly, I'd like to refer to step 3 in the process (you can find the detailed election process here):

3) The three users with the most votes from the nomination thread on the 14th of June at 12:01am will be eligable to run for office. The owners of the site reserve the right to remove any nominated user they feel is not serious about the job and replace them with any other user from the nomination thread or noone at all. Any replacement must be done by the 15th of June at 12:01am.


It's at this point in the process where I review each candidate, their past, what they have submitted for this election, and how I feel about them becoming an admin. After this review process, I have come to the decision that I'm not comfortable allowing Argos to continue.

Grill was removed earlier because I felt he would be a distraction to the process. Argos was not a distraction, he actively ran a campaign, expressed his ideas and made clear what his positions were. Overall Argos did an admirable job with his candidacy. However, given his past with the forum: the multiple bannings, the complete disregard and constant need to push the boundaries of the rules, and his interaction and comments during various topics and incidents in The Site forum, I wouldn't feel comfortable with him as Admin and I have reservations about how serious he would take the position.

This wasn't an easy decision, and if he chooses to run next year the outcome may be different, but at this time the decision is final. Argos has been removed from the election process.

-- Townhall Meeting (June 21st) (Subject to change based on scheduling)
-- Voting Begins (June 25th)
-- Voting Stops (July 5th) (Extended as I'll be out of town)
-- Winner Announced (July 6th or 7th)

One of the steps you said if you remove one candidate you will replace it with another. So MikeQ should be the 3rd candidate by default at this point.

Yet another clear case of seansaulsburyism. torrino will be a fine match.
But there's still hope: Maybe corpse - well-known for her honesty and therefore an ideal representative of the administration - will manage to upset the election.

So you just choose the admin by free will. You don't care what the users say.

Maybe you should reread my platform. Because my platform clearly states that I am willing to sacrifice my position if reasonable claims are made. Additionally, as I have said time and time again, I am allowing WoKJ to select two moderators (I have encouraged Argos to run), every one of which will share power equally with me.

And Corpse is a man, btw.


The infamous chat conversation(s) was/were more than enough to convince me of this. At this point, I have to trust this clear impression more than any of your phrases.

The bold sentence is especially funny. Even chipmunky got this.

IMO of course...just trying to give you something to think about.

Truthfully I agree. As you did with me, I was removed before the election started. I thought Argos ran a good campaign but all the reasons that you now excluded him were for pre-election stuff.

So he should have never been a candidate at all and then how would Argos votes have been split. And with only three votes seperating Corpse and Mike Q, think you have room to think about this.

I think this is a hard decision but you already did this 2X (made a rush decision) - put Torrino/Corpse/MikeQ - in a new run for a week - if MikeQ comes out on bottom then he is out - if he doesn't then let all 3 run next week!

Do it for the good of the forum that has to live with this for a year.

Argos -- 15 votes > Where would these votes have gone if he wasn't included in the election at all - You excluded him past on pre-election stuff so he never should have been included = bad election > re-do.

It is what it is. The finalists are the finalists. This was the process, and this was the time to remove candidates, we can review it after and modify it for next year.

Since Argos wasn't a legitimate candidate to begin with, I'd like to change my vote and choose MikeQ, instead of simply throwing it away.

I would think this is only a fair comment if you never thought about removing Argos before today. Otherwise it should have happened on that day or this was unfair that Argos was taking votes away from others.
