so 4 out of 6 seems fine and wasn't even worth the comment you made. ( with people making the choice on the 6th )

Grill I was not talking to you at all, my questions/concerns were addressed to torrino and they are perfectly legitimate in my honest opinion. If you disagree I will simply take that as confirmation that they are legitimate and perhaps even accurate concerns.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Hey Buddy. This is a Users Discussion on an open forum. Just giving my opinion! Also if you want to talk privately, PM him. Anyway, if he is going to have 6 MODS, can't use the term ALL when only talking about 4.

IMO! :shades:

I was reffering to the original four that he has already specified in my post, not anything of his other plans. I was not talking about argos nor the 1 that may be elected by WOKJ, I was specifying the four that are in his current sig. And yes, ALL of them joined on October 2004.

Agh this thread has gone crazy and I don't have time to sift through 5 pages of this shit.
Ross, it is my belief that the 2 KJ choice was a good idea, only 1 is taking away from the democratic aspect of how it is supposed to be run.
Also I believe personally that magnus would make a better mod than argos, but that's up to you.

Either way, I'm not a huge fan of your mod platform, not because I don't like them or because they wouldn't do a good job, I'm friendly with 2 of the people and get along with the other 2, and all of them are reasonable and intelligent posters. However I believe every single one joined in October 2004. I just wish that you showed any indication that you will change things or cater both to the new and old worlds, but this is just another sign that you will focus on appeasing only your old clients, rather than trying to bring in/help new ones which, obviously, bodes ill for me.

Using your original note shows IMO why you are wrong. Since he is only getting 4/6 and not 6/6 from 2004, I disagree with your argument. He is not only catering to the old.

and I will tell you what, John Savage, you should run for MOD and I will vote for you. Use your voice to make a change! I tried but I was excluded but here is your chance to speak for the newbies.

Ha geez...relax, Corpse. We're just having a good time. At least I am?

I'm going to assume you're not having this reaction because someone who got a lot of votes before being tossed out of the running joined the other side.

No, I wouldn't want Argos on my team, and that has nothing to do with him personally.

The reaction is due to page after page of non sense completely unrelated to this topic. There are other threads for chit chat, and what makes it worse is half of the mod team is part of it.

John Savage, I would appreciate if you didn't engage in off topic with grill or whoever else. You mean well, but it's just adding to the non sense.

We're not really off topic corpse, we're talking about zing's mod platform, pretty directly related to the topic of adm race. Although we are just going around in circles at this point so I'll let it go.
Should it come to it, I would "run" for office of MOD but highly doubt I would be rewarded as many here are opposed to change, and some are simply opposed to me.

Back on topic.

Torrino's decision to replace Magnus with Argos. I think it clearly shows he wanted to use the Argos outrage situation in order to attract those who did vote for Argos. Why replace Magnus otherwise? I was considering having Magnus as part of my team since the beginning until it became clear he was going to say no if I asked.

It was a smart move as far as taking steps to win this election, but it was clearly so he could gain the Argos supporters, nothing more. This is an example of how Torrino and I are running very different campaigns. I wouldn't have chosen Argos even if it meant gaining all 15 votes he received in the nomination round. He doesn't quite fit the example I am aiming for.

I'm running mine based on how I want to run the forum, how I want to change things, rather than based on ways to win like Torrino. if I lose by doing this, that'd be okay since I really don't feel like running, thinking how to win, instead I like thinking of ideas and how to get them moving.

It means he is playing to win, little to nothing else.

His first thought would be "how/what can I do to gain more votes?". Mine is very much "what can I add to the forum."

At least based on his recent actions.

As John Savage correctly pointed out we are discussing issues. I am surpsrised that you couldn't have noticed that yourself. Kindof makes one wonder if you can handle the ADMIN job.

And speaking of the ADMIN job, I love how you still at calling it ***** Corpse, WOKJ President*****. So I am wondering if you aren't smart enough to realize the difference or just too head-strong to be correct. Both of which are bad ADMIN traits....IMO, of course!

I'm not really playing at all. I don't think "how can I gain more votes???". I keep coming up with ideas that have potential to change the forum and the site instead, win or lose. If I wanted play to win, I wouldn't be running the campaign I am right now, but rather one closer to Torrino's. Create a familiar safe format, choose well known moderators (aim towards those eliminated if need be), and avoid as much actual discussion about the election as possible.

And that method bores me.

I will accept what the majorty decides of course, why wouldn't I? My point is I'm not only thinking (or making it my top priority) how to win, while Torrino is. I could have PMed you (knowing you may very well say no) seeing so many upset thinking it was a golden opportunity to gain those supporters by including you on my team for example, but it never crossed my mind. Again, nothing against you, I've liked you since the beginning for the most part, but I didn't see you playing a role in my ideas, and still don't see anything right now. Torrino surely saw that including you was an easy way to gain several votes that may have been undecided, smart move, but I don't think that's right.

On C Point 1. I don't think you could take any votes from Torrino or Argos, IMO!
On #2. Without playing to win, then nothing you say really matters...unless the other side adopts something into the rules. So kindof weak, IMO!

I'm running cause I think I can change the forum a great deal. And I'm not going to play politics in order to achieve that. I'd like to win on my ideas and rules I introduce.

That might be the difference between the two approaches, between your kindergarten and his senate. A kindergarten is rife with toys and fantasies; a senate with delegates.

You just asked for a stream of negativity, buddy.

Numero Uno. You've been PMing endlessly, including people that voted for me. :funny:

Numero Dos. It was not my idea to take advantage of Argos' supporters, it was Magnus'. Magnus PM'd me yesterday afternoon and asked to give his position up to Argos. I liked the thought. And as you can track in this thread, so did my other mods. The rundown was 4-0 (I didn't get a vote from xiayun).

Numero Tres: Your platform, in a nutshell, is: create a bunch of useless "teams," talk about the goals of each one without being specific, and to skip over more important things, like how your moderators will collaborate during conflict and conduct their day-to-day duties. For example, there was this brilliant response to the question of:

Quote:
Freedom of expression has never been a problem at WoKJ. It has always been pretty liberal with allowing folks to express their feelings without censorship, but my concern is that this freedom has been abused many times. I see too many personal insults thrown around, too many posters being rude to new folks joining the forum and have yet to hear any solutions from candidates.

If elected, what would your stance be on freedom of expression and where/how do you draw the line?

Corpse: I have voiced my opinion about this issue many times in the past. Everyone is always quick to attack a new member . Not sure why because I LOVE when new member join. Totally helps keep the forum fresh. I'd rather read post 1 of a new poster than post 20,000 of someone four years ago.

What could help with this is perhaps if we could gain new members more often than we do. My solution to expand the scope of the forum, while maintaining focus to the sites origin. Member growth is most important in dealing with this issue.

So here you kinda digressed about wanting to attract new members. Still, even if the question was "How do you plan to attract new members?"...you did not answer the question. You just simply said you want to "focus" on this issue. You also took 100 words to say it.

To be fair, Corpse, a lot of posters who aren't regulars (or haven't even posted in months) came out and voted for you last week. And I don't think it's because they were inspired by your platform...

Not to mention the "favor" you tried to pull from John Savage right from the beginning. You're playing the game just as much as anyone else is here.

And only 2 of the 5 on my mod team did.
