You were given many warnings by Royd too, and continued doing it after those. Taking away your thread making privileges for a short time is a good result in doing it I feel. I certainly wouldn't ban you, that's too extreme and not really needed if the reason for the issue can be stopped another way (that way being your thread making privileges). Again, similar to how Argos kept abusing his signature privileges and had his taken away for awhile.
