Post Thrown off by announcements in Everyone's A Critic
Is it just me, or is the new layout of Everyone's a Critic confusing?

It just feels sort of strange that the new films for the week are at the top of the page with the announcements, so the threads never move (i.e. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is on top of Wolverine even though no one's posted in the thread in days).

I liked it better when they were stickies. Does anyone else agree?

The problem with it just being stickies is that it only goes up to 4 movies. The movies that play in the second week tend to go unstickied the following week. If somehow we can put the election thread in its own category, it wont look as distracting

You can move the election thread to The Site if it's getting in the way?

Its global and a few folks would have missed the opportunity to look through the thread if they do want to vote. Maybe a third category or allowing more stickies in the critics forum would solve the annoucement thingy

Really? :(

I love it this way, and perhaps with global announcement out of the way (will put it in The Site only - was global for already 10 days), maybe will look better to you too.

Anyone else feels the same?

Btw, Roid, there can be more stickies, it isn't limited to four. Though, look of 7 or 8 (or more) stickies there prompted me to go this way.

I did try to sticky a 5th without success but it could be the announcements were taking up the spacing. Other than that, I'll keep that in mind with stickies

I noticed this change a few weeks ago and pointed it out in the Dragonball thread but it went mostly ignored.
I agree wit libs, nebs. I do not like the threads being in the announcements, it gets muddled and creates for a confusing read, I preferred when they were all stickied together.
Also I think it should be maintained that only movies of the current week and the one before it should be stickied, there were some cases where the movie was left stickied for almost a month, far longer than necessary.
This is just MHO, if I am wrong or these things are impossible, than naturally, ignore this.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Oh, I will! Don't you worry about that!

But these thing are possible of course, and there's no telling if you're right or wrong. Can't really judge that.

For me personally, it looks great, and there's nothing confusing about it. New movies as announcements, week old ones as stickies, everything else as normal threads. New posts notifications (different icon - red) help as well.

well one thing is the new movies get jumbled with the "request a movie" thread, so that makes it confusing right there.
I don't know, I'm not trying to be overly nitpicky, it's not that big a deal, just trying to help!

I like them as announcements, too. Keep it that way.
