I urge none of you to watch this. Except Price. You should only watch this.

I'm digging the visuals, but the cat bodies with the weird CGI'd actors faces looks so jarring, especially on Jennifer Hudson. It doesn't look as creepy as I was expecting, but it still looks pretty damn bizarre, especially considering how much money Universal is putting into it. Maybe they should have delayed it to work on the effects more.

It could've been worse. They have balls for trying to adapt this in the first place.

There's 4-5 months of post production left, the effects will probably look a lot more complete once it's released.

I watch everything. That way I have some fundament when talking about a specific issue. Most people in here do the same. Except Chippy.

The faces are CGI'd? I can't tell. Would it be much different if prosthetic and practical effects were used?

Interesting.
I need to see the musical to see why it’s so popular. I do know that song Hudson sings which she is nailing

I would think so, but maybe it would make it look like The Island of Dr Moreau or the 2001 Planet of the Apes? Everything is CGI nowadays to the point that practical make up effects look antiquated.

Practical make-up could make it look more natural and authentic. Actually I am fine with the actors and their faces. It's the set and background (when not dark) that look too polished and fake to me.

The set is mostly real. Just like with Beauty and the Beast.

The characters do not blend very well with the background in the kitchen and dining room scenes when every piece of furniture is scaled up in size.

I mean, it does look like a horrific disaster, but it doesn't look abysmal either. I'd imagine if someone loved Cats: The Musical, they would enjoy taking that stage production to the big screen? I know nothing about it. It looks like it was made by Tim Burton.

If nothing else, it'll be remembered as an insane mess of a movie.

I think it would have been cool to see like, them look like actual cats? The only reason they look like humans in the original show is because real cats can't sing and dance. Like I think a more realistic take on the cats would have looked better.

I have no interest in seeing this myself. I do hope it does well as that might make a ThunderCats movie more possible. Vin Diesel as Panthro would be my first casting choice.

They are like famous for that style though, it would look equally weird if it were real looking cats belting out musical numbers, they were a broadway staple of NY almost like the Rockettes.

Lol, god, I remember this commercial being on like every VHS tape I ever owned.

The effects are not great, so it is better to work on them properly to make the whole picture exciting!
