Post Re: What Book Are You Reading Right Now?
Since my last post I've read:

A Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones
A Song of Ice and Fire: A Clash of Kings
I really really enjoyed both books so far. Can't wait for the next three. It's pretty addicting.

Dolores by Stephen King:
One of the worst King novels I've read so far.

Still Missing by Chevy Stevens:
Now that was a real page turner. I couldn't stop reading and finished it in a little more than a day. Heartbreaking last sentence.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins:
I liked this much more than the terrible second book and I was pretty shocked at some of the stuff that happened throughout the book.

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zàfon:
Probably my favorite book I've read last year. It's just wonderful and I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to more books by Zàfon.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett:
I liked it. It's a nice read but nothing that sticks in my mind for too long.

Right now I'm reading A Song of Ice and Fire: A Storm of Swords, which is a little more drawn out than the first two but there are still more than enough chapters where I can't stop reading.

A new Ice and Fire fan. :D

New New Rules by Bill Maher - 8/10
Undisputed by Chris Jericho - 8/10

Both were fun reads.

Riggs - the first half of Storm of Swords is a bit slow but get through it as the second half is damn good.

Finishing off my Chelsea Handler run with Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. Really funny so far. Once I got into her style, I'm digging it. Might make me start watching her show.

Still reading Live From New York. Excellent for those interested in the history of SNL. Reads like a series of interviews intertwined.

Also started Clarence Clemon's Big Man.

Finally picked back up and finished Big Man by Clarence Clemons. Nice read, love the true stuff. The storytelling only worked to a point.

Started Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian or the Evening Redness in the West.

Well, I finally continued reading the second half of A Storm of Swords and it's AMAZING so far. I'm still shocked at what happened a few pages ago, hehe.

So I'm done with A Storm of Swords and dear god this was definately my favorite one so far. I kinda expected the revelation at the end but it was still done very well. All of the storylines were really really good this time. Amazing how many characters he killed of, though I'm not a fan on some of those
Spoiler: show
(especially Tywins and Joffreys who I loved to hate).

Before beginning with Book 4, I started reading Carlos Ruiz Zafon's Marina, which I already love after a few pages.

Anyone read Wool Omnibus by Hugh Howey? I have only heard good things about it but worry that it being self-published (at least initially might mean that it is replete with errors and in need of an editor.

I'm now reading The Perks of being a Wallflower and I have serious problems getting into it. I sure hope that changes soon.

Well, I'm still working on finishing Wallflower. Usually I'm really into this type of books/movies but I really can't stand the lead, Charlie. I always thought I'm a very sensitive guy but against this whiny, unlikeable Charlie character with his wannabe-oh so different thoughts about everything, I'm like Rambo. I do hope I can stand him more in the movies. But my expectations are pretty low now.

Just finished re-reading The Hobbit in anticipation for the movie release of course. Note that this is probably my 3rd time through? Seems that I read it about every 10 years...

It's "I always thought I'm a very sensitive guy", right?

Total Recall by Arnold - Fascinating read. It is a monster though, 600+ pages of text and at least twenty five extra pages of pictures.

Ender's Game - Wonderful. I somehow avoiding having the ending spoiled my entire life and it completely threw me. This will be difficult to adapt into film though, since so much of the content takes place in Ender's mind. Going to start Speaker for the Dead tomorrow.

I've read A Separate Peace twice in the last week in preparation for teaching it next week. It's powerful and heartbreaking, as advertised.

Outside of the stuff I'm reading/teaching for student-teaching, I'm working through Cloud Atlas (I was mixed on the film, but several friends have raved about the book, so I'm giving it a shot), and I'm indulging my baseball fandom with the just-released Francona: The Red Sox Years.
