 Re: Rank Mission: Impossible films
1. Mission: Impossible: legit classic 2. Mission: Impossible - Fallout: Cruise doing his own stunts really worked in this one and had great double crosses 3. Mission: Impossible 3 - I feel like I enjoyed Rogue Nation coming out more of the theatre but PSH and ridiculous mask gimmick just stands out more to me now 4. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation: The type of good movie where I don't remember really anything that happened, just that Ferguson was hot in it 5. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol: This felt like the plot was just an excuse to get to a few big setpieces, although the building one was obviously really cool 6. Mission: Impossible 2 - I don't remember this enough to know if it's bad.

 Re: Rank Mission: Impossible films
Before I see Dead Reckoning:
Fallout - the best by far
Ghost Protocol Rogue Nation - both changed the series for the better MI3 - poorly shot by JJ Abrams but easily the best villain and brings Simon Pegg in MI - like it alot but its not at all like the rest of them
2 - its fun a movie, but way too dramatic and Cruise's hair is unforgivable

MI M3 MI2 MI4 GP MI6 MI5
Honestly I need to rewatch all of them again before re-ranking.
The first i have a soft sport for because I was younger and couldnt wait to see the film. I also recall liking the second when it came out but perhaps that's with rose tinted glasses.

 Re: Rank Mission: Impossible films
This thread has truly found the impossible mission. I don't even know where to begin other than just edging M:I-2 as my favourite because of nostalgia and the time it came out (my teenage years), but they're all excellent in their own ways and impossible to separate.

 Re: Rank Mission: Impossible films
I absolutely loved 2. It was so unexpected and was my first exposure to Woo films. The visuals, action, Cruise…everything. I had to hop on this thread and give 2 a shoutout. I thought Rogue Nation was over robust still good.

 Re: Rank Mission: Impossible films
After having watched 1-6 again, my reranked and current list is now.
1. Mission: Impossible (A) 2. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (A) 3. Mission: Impossible 2 (A-) 4. Mission: Impossible III (A-) 5. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (A-) 6. Mission: Impossible - Fallout (A-) 7. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (B+)
And I want to add, the first one is just an iconic and classic film, loved it at first sight and remains one my favorite experiences. 2 and 3 are great too, and unique too in how they are different in style and feel from each other and the first one, yet fitting together, it's just a great trilogy. Then GP set a new standard again for the action spy genre, it's just a blast from start to finish and one of the best films of the 2010's. Rogue Nation and Fallout are two great follow-ups to it, remaining similar in style and cast, and is a much more natural trilogy than the first three films, but also a slightly, ever so slightly because they're all great, inferior package to the first three. Dead Reckoning Part One is the only one which I've just seen once so far, and I will re-watch that sometime too, at least before Part Two, which I look forward to, as this is fantastic franchise all together and I want to continue seeing where it takes me.
