 Jack Skellington vs Howl
Watching Nightmare Before Christmas with my son today and getting back into Studio Ghibli again had me thinking, but is it just me, or does Jack Skellington and Howl (from Howl’s Moving Castle) give off the same vibe? They are both have that king of the nerds feel to them. Nerdy girls want to be with them, nerdy guys want to be them. More over, as characters, they are both slender and tall, mysterious and often soft spoken, but also powerful leaders and pillars of their magical communities.
Also growing up in college, they both appealed to the same type of person.

Ones from a good movie, beloved by all. The other is from a meh movie that very few people have seen (I saw it but didn’t love it.

I am also not huge on Howl despite being a big fan of Miyazaki. But when I was in college he and his movie was very popular in the social circles I lived in.
