I wonder if that's the Rian Johnson trilogy, or the Game of Thrones trilogy.

Also... unreal they pushed back Avatar again.

Will they even get to Avatar 5. I can see interest waning big time by the 4th film.

I'm still interested in Avatar 2. I loved the first film and want to see where it goes from there. I just want some images please. I do appreciate that they are doing the films b2b2b last I heard.

Can not wait to see what new technology James Cameron been playing with the past 5 years. Avatar 2 is going to be another billion dollars hit for him and Disney. I have faith in JC.

As for Star Wars I’m glad they taking 3 years break from theatrical release. Disney+ will hold us over until then.

These franchises are the past. I don't feel people care at all about Avatar, and Star Wars has been (and will continue to be) diluted. Any tech that Cameron was playing with when he started Avatar 2 will be dated by the time it is eventually released. This is probably why it's taking so long to actually make, because of this catch-22.

What a waste of (what will be) two (or three!!) decades on Avatar. Its ridiculous. He should have left Avatar as one film and moved on to at least 3 or 4 different films in that period. A streak like T2/True Lies/Titanic would be far far better than Avater 1-5 zzzzzz.

I think Cameron probably regrets taking on more Avatar sequels, which is why he keeps helping with other projects which are more interesting to him. Alita, Genisys, Dark Fate, etc. How many sequels are they making for Avatar now? I've lost count. Is it 3 or 5 or just an endless supply?

Jeez at this rate we will all be dead before Avatar 2 ever comes out.

I have a feeling Cameron keeps getting close and then the technology is already dated by the time he gets closer to the release date.

I imagine he's waiting for the technology to develop to the point where he wants it.

Have we seen any huge advancements in CGI in the past few years?

I think the de-aging technology is the last real realm of improvement. It'll be interesting to see Scorsese's new film. Budget for the Irishman is suppose to be near 200 million. I thought that they did a really good job with Jackson in Captain Marvel this year, except he seemed to sounded and moved like a 71 year old Jackson. The thoughts of a young DeNiro, Pacino, Pesci, and Keitel will be interesting if they can pull it off.

I hear that Scorsese has concerns about how the de-aging aspects of the film have worked out (at least in context of moving back and forth between now and then as opposed to just remaining in the one period). I hope it doesn't detract from the film.

You can deage someone, but they're still going to move and sound like an old man.

Depends on the person. I thought they did a great job with Kurt, Douglas and Jackson in the Marvel films. Pacino sounds like it’ll be a nightmare.
