Post subject:  Why is it called a Theater Box?

I guess it is because you have them in the theater. But they are not exclusive to cinemas. They are sold in supermarkets, and you can definitely buy bags at the cinema (isn't that the most common way to eat sweets in the cinema? Even traditionally, pick n mix are the cinema sweet, not boxes). So what is the reason these are called theater boxes? Anybody know?

Interestingly, the term is not written on the box.

Well in the older days they didn't have those bags that were resealable. They just had the boxes. I used to love getting Junior Mints or Snow Caps. The boxes are usually cheaper anyway and the right portion, and people will just buy them and sneak them in now. Though I would assume theaters have started to move away from them now especially for health reasons (chocolate melting to the box can't be good etc.)
