Simply from a monetary option.

If you really look at Infinity War it's four mini films combined. I'm guessing they weren't expecting the results of both Thor 3 and Black Panther.

You seriously could have made Thanos the villain in all of them.

Guardians/Thor4 (It expands on Zandar and Gamora is the end)

Iron Man/ Dr. Strange/Spidey

Black Panther/ Post Avengers/ Cap (Throw in Vision and Wanda)

Avengers 3

I guess the only thing I am addressing on is I love the films, and I really liked this movie, I'm just like this is going to be the "Sparknotes" version the whole time.

It's that weird moment where success actually taints success.

Thoughts?

I don't think so, if you burn Thanos early and Guardians, Strange, etc. being involved with the other heroes it would just make Avengers 3 and 4 into Age of Ultron type grossers hence cancelling out the benefit of inflating the other films. Not to mention dilute the brand. If they nail Infinity War 2 it will leave Marvel in an epic place good will wise and set them up to keep printing money into the 2020s long after Iron Man and Captain America are retired

Yeah I was a little crazy with the thread title. I just think it would be kind of unique to have Thanos the villain across the universe for 4 films (And no Avengers 3) and you have 5 films doing over 1.2 billion WW as opposed to 2.

It's not a mistake, but it could have been an interesting way to go to extend the major players. I just could have taken an entire Iron Man 4/Spiderman/Guardians film.

Inhumans!

Marvel actually took that off the MCU movie release schedule and left it for TV. Dodged a bullet there.

Yeah, forgot about that. So Marvel triumphed again.

Adding Thanos in a solo movie would have not helped IW and the boost would not have been big enough. It wasn't a mistake to keep Thanos in shadows.
