Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
I was not aware of this. Sounds awesome! Two ex-special forces soldiers must escort a group of civilians along Baghdad's "Highway of Death" to the safety of the Green Zone. Director: Scott Waugh Writer: Arash Amel Stars: Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Chan http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6879446/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Oh, but the production company is Sparkle Roll Media, the company that represents Jackie Chan, so it may not be all that good. But the premise sounds great. I guess it just depends if they add humour to it. Scott Waugh is directing so hopefully it is more Act of Valor than Need for Speed (and more both of those than ... CZ12 or Kung Fu Yoga).

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Nice combo. Make it a serious action film with peppered moments of comedy and that's a winner.
I like Chan's upcoming Foreigner film too so looks like he's doing some good projects.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
I think it is just a coincidence that at the moment Chan seems to look promising in terms of his choices. I mean, don't get me wrong, The Foreigner looks good, and I hope he gets back to the Chan of the 90s, but realistically that ain't going to happen. He is still making his crappy Chinese stuff. His next, Bleeding Steel, is out at the end of the year.
He has a non-leading role in Viy 2: Journey to China (as does Arnold and Rutger Hauer). Ex-Baghdad isn't scheduled until 2019, so I don't get my hopes up for that just yet, and most likely they will make it too jokey.
But I am interested to see how Shanghai Dawn fares. That's out next year apparently, and I love the original (not as fond of the sequel).

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Apparently this will no longer happen. No reason provided yet. Sly would rather do Escape Plan 2, The Expendables 4, Creed 2, Rambo V, and more Marvel supporting gigs. There's nothing like being Mr. Creative.

Creed 2 is bringing back Drago though. That's epic.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
It's actually kind of pathetic and sad that Stallone feels the need to tread these old paths yet again. I wish he'd just leave it all alone and focus on new projects, but he is such a servant to popularity that he will keep churning out Rocky's and Rambo's until the day he dies, which is shame.

It might have been a translation error. This project is probably still on. Let's wait and see.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
If this includes typical Chan slapstick humor, god this will be terrible. That's a really awkward film to put Stallone into. If it's a serious film, then it could be good.
Also Rambo V was sadly cancelled. I think he's too old for it. It would have been bad ass though. Rambo in Mexico taking on some cartels. That would have been amazing.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
It is cancelled but the thing with Stallone is that every year it can easily be back on. Nothing is ever truly cancelled regarding Stallone and Rocky/Rambo.

Well hot damn I hope it gets uncancelled! Rambo (Rambo 4) was such a beautiful film of Rambo, violence, and carnage. I've been wishing for that level of Rambo awesomeness, but in Mexico with cartels...ever since I heard the first Rambo V rumors.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Also forgot to mention, if it gets uncancelled, then it could use one of the greatest action movie titles left on the shelf, the rumored Rambo: Last Blood title.
There's that of course, and there is the ALL TIME greatest unused title in action movie history. A title so great, it's criminal that it hasn't been used to this day. That title is of course Die Hard: Die Hardest.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Actually, I must say that I never heard Rambo V was cancelled. To my knowledge it is still "on the shelf" for Stallone. Just "in development".

He seems more content to do cameos in Marvel films nowadays.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Hmm, I remember that but also remember that Stallone has since come out and said Rambo V is a go.
I thought that he only said that last year because he was thinking that his Best Supporting Actor nomination was going to get him loads of respect and prestige roles afterwards. As it did not, I thought he came out again saying that Rambo V is on the cards. But I cannot find a link to it. Perhaps I was getting it mixed up with Creed II.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
Maybe you're right. I simply don't recall him saying Rambo V was a go again. Creed 2 sure does seem like a go.

Re: Stallone and Chan in EX-BAGHDAD
It is better that Rambo doesn't get a fifth movie, in my opinion. The fourth ended it nicely.
