20th Century Women Gold I, Daniel Blake Live by Night Moonlight Neruda Paterson Patriots Day If I had to select just one: Gold. I am still excited for it despite the mediocre reviews. The director's previous film, Syriana, is one of my all-time favorites. |

Moonlight is the one. Hope it reexpands. I had plans to see it in theaters twice, but one day the weather was shit and the other I was too disgusted by a certain crustacean movie to deal with another potentially obnoxious independent film. Would like to see Passengers in theater too. That spaceship has probably sailed though. Uh, I still haven't seen Silence (and I need to, it just seems so daunting) and Live By Night. Older releases that were big or got some critical attention that I didn't see: The Secret Life of Pets Kung Fu Panda 3 The Accountant The Magnificent Seven Central Intelligence War Dogs Blair Witch Eye In The Sky The Handmaiden I plan on watching Accountant and Blair Witch soon though. |

I have done a terrible job watching documentaries this year. I believe I only saw one: the Oasis documentary by the Amy team. The ones which received lots of attention (as far as documentaries go) [The Eagle Huntress, Tickled, Wiener, O. J.: Made in America, etc.] slipped by me. I may try to catch up with a few, though the O. J. one seriously disinterests me. It is, what?, eight or nine hours long, and I feel enormous burnout regarding anything O. J. Simpson related. |
