Fresh off his Academy Award nomination for last year’s Creed, Sylvester Stallone appears to be moving even further from the Expendables end of the spectrum. The actor is replacing Robert De Niro in Olivier Assayas’ Idol’s Eye, an upcoming heist thriller from the Personal Shopper and Clouds of Sils Maria auteur.

Stallone will appear alongside Robert Pattinson and Rachel Weisz as Tony Accardo, a mafia don in Chicago. Pattinson plays a thief who steals a blue diamond from Stallone’s character, whom we can safely assume doesn’t take kindly to the transgression.
