Elba is only 5 years younger, so I think that makes him an unlikely candidate despite his name being thrown around for years. |

THe franchise also I think needs new blood. Four films over 10 years is enough reason to start anew. Tom Hiddleston is the current favorite to take it, which would be a great choice. hiddleston is too well-known now, maybe before thor/the avengers he would've been right. same with elba. dan stevens would be a good choice, especially after the guest. |

Dan Stevens is a great choice actually. I like Hiddleston but not sure if he's the best choice. Elba would be a great choice but hopefully The Dark Tower series ends up being the big breakthrough for him instead. |

I hope he gets one more. His odds have been the pinnacles of the series. His evens have still been higher quality entries. a retired Bond movie is already much more interesting. |

Bond is a brand. It won't change. Black and blonde Bondesque has already Happenned in someway. You have Jason Bourne, mission impossible, Charles angels and last craft. Where would Jamie Bond ever work when nothing works to begin with |

But I doubt a movie based on 00 would work. James Bond is the brand name. Not 00. It could also possibly unecesarily dilute the Bond grosses. |

We haven't gotten a real Bond origin film yet, his youth, his teens, etc. Especially since we got a hint of his childhood in Spectre, I'd love it if they went with such a film at some point. |

Media here report that apparently negotiations are a done deal and some filming for Bond 25 will start in Dubrovnik in January 2018. |
