For the first time a studio (or, to be more precise, the press agency working for the studio) is trying to strongarm me/my website into taking down a review for supposedly breaking an NDA.
The film in question is The Hateful Eight and as it happens, the movie is playing regularly in movie theatres in the Netherlands. So instead of waiting for the press screening of the film in Germany - which still has not taken place - one of my authors, who lives very close to the border and 30 minutes away from a large Dutch cinema, simply went over there, saw the film and we published the review. Then we found out that the studio actually imposed an embargo on reviews in Germany until the 16th, but since the film was not seen under press-related circumstances, since none of us signed the NDA and the film was seen under normal and legal circumstances, I see nothing that should hinder me from having the review up and running. Not to mention that it is an extremely positive review, but I think that doesn't matter.
Let's see where this goes.
