Carrie and Evil Dead were. Halloween absolutely not. This isn't always the case. There are plenty of awful remakes (Nightmare on Elm Street for one). But some aren't so bad. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) was better than the original.

I heard this news and thought this guy is extremely young to be portraying that clown. Maybe he can frighten kids but is a teen clown gonna frighten adults?

You're making me regret every post in this thread. OK, Will Poulter does not look retarded or creepy, which coincidentally are not two prerequisites for being a clown, this will be an actual word-for-word remake, and I hated Sin Nombre.

The good ones for me are The Running Man, The Green Mile, Stand By Me, and The Shawshank Redemption. Oh, and 1408 wasn't bad.
