So many people have their favorite Christmas movies. And this may be the first year where I realized just how many holiday movies are out there. But in the Christmas genre, there are two obvious subgenres: the traditional and the Anti-Christmas flicks. -Traditional: these are the Christmas movies that are much-loved for their honest and heart-warming spirit. Examples: the classics such as It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Carol, White Christmas; the more modern fare includes Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Elf, The Family Stone, Love Actually. -Anti-Christmas: these can be just Christmas movies with a twist, or outright anti-Christmas films. Examples: action and horror films like Black Christmas, Sint, Die Hard, Gremlins, Christmas Evil, Silent Night; dark comedies including Christmas Vacation, Bad Santa, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Ref, etc. As much as I love a good Christmas movie, most of my favorites are on the Anti-Christmas side. |

Some are also on the border. So it's tough to decide. |

Both. Sometimes one is good, sometimes the other. Also, even though it can be dark at times, A Christmas Carol is as traditional as it gets. |

Has anyone seen Rare Exports? It's another kind-of anti-Christmas movie, but it's a lot of fun. |
