Well Summer of 2019 is going to be insane. INSANE.

The conclusion to the Infinity Wars and (I'm assuming) Darkseid.

SERPENT SOCIETY wasn't real! It's actually...

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR!

I really don't like this. Marvel was supposed to be better, giving their fans what they want little by little, each bit as exciting as the last, instead of laying it all out for the stock holders' peace of mind. And Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Inhumans are much more exciting as rumors. Now they're just another cog in the great machine.

Phase 2 involved three sequels we knew were coming though. That announcement was all about Guardians, and it made people like me actually curious about who they were, enough to build enough excitement to create a monster hit. Nothing in here is as crazy or original as the unveiling of the Guardians team. It seems like its just a response to WB.

Always and forever, Marvel will always be copying DC.

In just the comic world? Because they both go back and forth ripping off each other.

In films though, Avengers was planned before DC planned their stuff. Iron Man set up everything while DC/WB was still up Nolan's ass (for good reason mind you), sticking with just batman.

;)
I am very happy that TDK Trilogy is a entirely separate thing from their future universe. Having Bale chill with Waterguy and Green Ring Bearer would've been terrible. Them getting a new Batman is awesome and I can't wait to see it all.

Although the MCU will forever reign supreme!

Also, if WB is smart, they'd release Justice League part II before Avengers II finishes.

True

I'm sure if BvS explodes and becomes a BO hit, warner would consider moving JL Part 2 to March 2019

Actually, I hope it happens

Looks like Thor 3 will be pretty damn important afterall. Feige even says it will be TWS of phase 3 which means shit is really going down. Never read the comics, but since they aren't going directly by them I'm guessing instead of some random giant/demon dude destroying Asgard Thanos will be the one involved.

It would make more sense considering it would be the perfect build-up for TA 3/4. Also, atleast we won't have to wait too long to see Thanos in action either.

Well, that's just embarrassing 'cause he is somewhat accepting how shitty and unimportant to the MCU Thor 2 (and maybe IM3) were.

Although it's only a rumor at this stage, Bleeding Cool, is meanwhile reporting that Warner Bros. appears to be planning a full trilogy of Wonder Woman solo films and, according to their unnamed source, the first one will take place back in the 1920s and will reveal Themyscira's first encounter with the outside world and Wonder Woman's own experiences with a USA that still had a lot to learn about equal rights. Then, they claim, a sequel is planned to take place in the 1940s, to will be set against the backdrop of World War II. A third would finally bring Wonder Woman's solo adventures to the contemporary setting of the planned Justice League films.

Here's a question to some who are perhaps more knowledgable with the comics than I am:

Once MCU uses up the Civil War storyline and the Infinity Gauntlet (and thus, with Thanos, the most powerful villain they still have the rights to) - where can the MCU possibly go from there and how can the Avengers-films keep topping themselves as far as the level of threat is concerned? I mean they don't have the rights to Galactus or the Dark Phoenix... Even if Sony is desperate enough to give them Spider-Man back at some point, Fox is certainly not giving away X-Men.

I am surprised that when Marvel wold the rights to Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four there wasn#t a clause saying that the rights had to be renewed every 15-20 years or something. That way Marvel could eventually get all of their characters back.

Probably not, no, but I'd still do that with rights to all characters I'm selling. Giving them away for an indefinite amount of time...I dunno.

the rights weren't indefinite absolutely. They had to make movies or else it goes back. Hence why Daredevil went back.

Yeah, but Fox won't stop with the X-Men-films in the next 20-30 years.

The real question for MCU is what how will they move on without Evans, RDJ, Hemsworth, etc.? I doubt the core make it beyond the last Avengers film. Evans for sure has said he will be out and I think Hemsworth career is moving along that he doesn't need Thor anymore. RDJ may be willingly to do a movie every few years potentially but he may even decided to drop it.

For CA and Iron Man, you could in theory have other characters become those heroes. Thor is a bit tricky though maybe you don't even need Thor now that you've already opened up the universe with GOTG.

You can always have female Thor :funny:

I think they will keep making cameos. I mean honestly, you are right that Hemsworth probably won't be needing Thor anymore, but Hugh Jackman doesn't "need" Wolverine either by now, yet he keeps playing him. Evans is the only one who seems very intent on getting out.

BTW, Kevin Feige confirmed that by the end of Avengers: Age of Ultorn the line-up of the Avengers will be very different than at its beginning.

Marvel really struck gold with Guardians of the Galaxy, a team that will stick around for a while and that has huge acceptance from audiences. Now they need to achieve that with Doctor Strange as well.

The crazy thing is that we are talking about stuff that is more than five years from now, lol.

Evans is a weird one for me. He's a bad actor and is not capable of carving anything else apart from his Captain America character. If I were him, I'd keep playing Captain America for as long as possible, because if I quit playing him, I'd have no career left. When he gets out, he'll be coming back when he realises that no scripts are coming his way.

He actually said that he doesn't want to act for a long while after his Marvel duties are done. He wants to direct.
