It's almost certainly 100% nothing. But I use Mojo for my schedules... so... I need them to remove it, lol.

(these will all happen, eventually) Well I know they're still trying to get Flash off the ground. Black Adam is SUPPOSED to shoot early 2020. Shazam 2 could possibly jump in to March 2022? Batgirl is being written, and may depend on what happens in Birds of Prey. New Gods is being developed by Ava.

(these all are all super longshots) Green Lantern Corp may never happen. Spielberg is supposed to be doing that Blackhawk film. I know they WANT a Supergirl movie. Chris McKay was/is? working on a Nightwing movie. Could get a Gotham City Sirens. A Blue Beetle screenplay is being written. A PLASTIC MAN?! screenplay is also being written. Who knows if we'll ever get that Man of Steel sequel... or that Deathstroke movie. I'd love a Cyborg movie...

I used to want DC to have someone in charge of its films (like Kevin Feige) but now I'm enjoying just winging it. Shazam & Joker are brilliant in their own way. :funny: AQUAMAN MADE OVER A BILLION DOLLARS! keep doing whatever you're doing DC  I'm very much looking forward to BOP & WW84 next year.... and ESPECIALLY James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD in 2021 :D

GUYS 2021 IS GOING TO BE SPECIAL YEAR IN COMIC BOOK FILMS!

while a Feige will make it consistent but they all tend to be similar as well. Here at least you dont know what you are going to get. Joker is nothing like Shazam. Just hire good directors and focus on the script.

I hope they follow the arrowverse model and just have characters appear in the movies before spinning them off their own movies. But I dont think they will do that. I am expecting Wondy 2 and other movies to be stand alone at this point.

I think there are rumors of JJ getting Superman? If they don't just continue with Cavill they're idiots. The fanbase wants him back.

Really enjoyed Shazam but honestly Black Adam doesn't excite me much. Hope 2022 is The Flash/AM2 and 2023 we finally get a proper Justice League or Superman film.

Technically Jim Lee is the Feige of the DC film "universe".

What I think they should do with Shazam is... have him play a decent role in the final third of Black Adam. And then have the 2nd Shazam film center around that conflict, and have an actual Superman appear to help. Which could lead into the next Superman film.

I must admit the coming phase of DC films (starting with Joker) is more exciting/interesting than Phase 4 of Marvel films. I think the box office will tell a similar story. And I usually lean Marvel.

Well DC should definitely win 2020. WW1984 has a good chance at outgrossing Widow and Eternals by itself if they fall on the low end of expectations (Ant-Man and The Wasp numbers?) Bird of Prey going $200M+ would just be icing. 2021 I would have given to Marvel even before Spidey, but I seem to be the only one expecting massive numbers for Strange 2.

Why is there no Martian Manhunter movie in development?

I figured DC would have expanded their release schedule after Aquaman succeeded... but it looks like they waited until after Shazam and now they're being cautious again.

Kind of, though? The films they have coming out are three sequels to hugely popular films (WW, AQ, SS). A Harley Quinn film, and Batman.

Shazam 2 hasn't been slated, Black Adam hasn't been slated, nothing not already established. Just seems odd.

One big note - WB needs Aquabro 2 out before winter 2022. 4 years is too long, interest fades.

Move Aquabro 2 to winter 2021 and slot JJ Abrams' Superman into winter 2022.

WB's best decision by far was to pick better Directors than fucking Zack Snyder. In the hands of a more capable and popular director ala JJ Abrams, I suspect another Cavill Superman film could do very well. I don't think the gap would hurt assuming it arrives before 2022 or so. People have always like Cavill in the role since the beginning.

BVS didn't stop people from seeing Wonder Woman because they liked they character. JL didn't stop people from seeing Aquaman because they liked the character. Get Superman into capable hands and that will be a 4th billion dollar franchise for them after Bats, Wonder Woman, and Aquabro. Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad might not be that far behind.

That said- Batman alone had the potential to be Avengers-sized. If Pattison's film does what its capable of and they bring Phoenix in for the sequel, that will be the first potential End Game challenger.

Throw in Matrix 4 and likely Harry Potter 9?

Die, Disney. Die. :hahaha:

DC hiring Zack Snyder after he had taken a dump on the floor with Sucker Punch and then giving him the car keys to everything after a perfectly average Man of Steel performance, is literally the worst financial decision in the history of film and cost them billions. They're otherwise totally competent. Competent DC + Batman vs Superman leading into Justice League 1/2/3 is a monster. Also as excel said Henry Cavill was probably an awesome pick for Superman, he just had the wrong material

Post subject:  Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion

I would note that Man Of Steel's performance was WRECKED by opening 1 week before WWZ and Monsters U, which combined for $147 million opening weekend and like $600m total. MOS had zero potential for legs given where it opened. The film was not beloved but it was hardly a franchise killer. Had it opened in Pacific Rims date, it probably added $50 million domestic and $150m to its global total.

Similar to bringing Craig back for Skyfall after a 4 year gap and everyone hating his 2nd film, I could EASILY see buzz for a Cavill-Supes solo film from a popular Director "blowing up" to a low to mid $100s opening if the release was handled correctly.

Summer 2021: The Batman
Winter 2021: Aquabro 2, Matrix 4
Summer 2022: Wonder Woman 3, Suicide Squad 3
Winter 2022: Superman
Summer 2023: The Batman vs. Joker
Winter 2023: Superman
Summer 2024: Wonder Woman - Aquaman team up

Snyder is a great director. But he needs supervision. Whether that be an air-tight script, or just a producer who is very involved. I would love if he got another DC film, but like... in the future.

Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. I dig it.

Idk what they're doing with connectivity but she would look great with Margot, hope she gets used if Gotham City Sirens ever gets made.

They should get Shazam 2 ready for 2021 if it's really gonna happen. Some of the kids look old af already.

So 2022 DC will probably be Black Adam, Aquaman 2 and hopefully Flash... but if they start shooting that late maybe 2023. If it ever happens yeesh.

Post subject:  Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion

Is there definitely gonna be a Shazam 2 before he fights Black Adam? The first is well-liked but it didn't have great legs and I don't see how it will increase very much at the box office. There's probably more money in a Sinestro Corps movie or Gorilla Grodd and the Magical Wonderful Phantasmal Ape Escape.

Black Adam with The Rock will make $250M+. Easy hit.

Post subject:  Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion

I don't think they necessarily need to rush Shazam 2, as there are stories of him in college, etc. But they don't want to wait too long. They should probably shoot it almost right after Black Adam, so they can start to build that battle up.

Man Shazam really didn't hit for me. Maybe it's because films like Sky High existed and Mark Strong in yet Mark Strong role. It was fine, but not 91% fine.

Holy Shit!

Is WW84 in the 80s to incorporate Joker?

Probably not, but a missed opportunity

Post subject:  Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion

Yeah probably missed opp. At this point best to keep Joker on ice until he meets Batman.
