I'm thinking Guardians gets a 2021 date. We should know once Marvel do their thing at Comic con.

Gunn is working on Suicide Squad, idk if they'd have time to film Guardians to release 2021

What if Asguardians of the Galaxy is actually Thor 4 with Waihiti directing and they get that into the May 2021 spot?

Uh, wasn't there a big hoopla about Gunn being rehired?

You guys are talking 2021, what is next May? Sony capitalized, but already it feels Marvel is scrambling for the first time, I’m kind of surprised by their post Endgame strategy. Ant man and the Hulk forming the Avengers, and the X-men pop in?

Yeah but he’s stated that he wasn’t writing the movie with Thor in mind even before he was fired. Plus the Guardians have a ton of their own issues to deal with like Gamora, The Sovereign and Adam Warlock. Meanwhile Thor doesn’t have a ton going on, most of his friends and family were killed in Ragnarok or Infinity War pre-snap. So having Thor: Guardians be the team-up movie and then letting Gunn conclude his trilogy without Thor makes a lot of sense. Can they really let those characters sit until 2022?

Black Widow is the only MCU film filming rn. Its probably getting May 2020.

May 2020 has to be be Black Widow. It won't be CGI heavy so post production won't be lengthy.

Also where is Stallone's spinoff?

They are really letting Doctor Strange and Black Panther sit though. Just from a money standpoint Black Panther should be the priority

A week from tonight MCU’s future will be much more clearer

Thor 4 is in the works with Taika Waititi returning as director, with Hemsworth and Thompson reprising their roles.

Not sure why they decided to announce it just a few days before Comic-Con, though, unless they have a bigger announcement(s) planned.

Well they can leak that Thor 4 with Waititi is real to build up excitement for the rest of the announcements, then drop the reveal of it being Asguardians of the Galaxy. They probably started working on this as soon as Gunn got fired and took G3 off the schedule. Well played- if that makes the Nov 2020 date it should be the new favorite to win the entire year.

Like... what is even their plan then?

Thor 4 is going to come before GOTG 3? Which means GOTG 3 is essentially going to be GOTG 4.

Their plan will be revealed soon enough

My guess for those dates
May 2020 - Black Widow
November 2020 - Eternals
Feb. 2021 - Black Panther 2
May 2021 - Thor 4
November 2021 - Doctor Strange 2
February 2022 - Captain Marvel 2
May 2022 - Guardians 3
July 2022 - Spider-Man 3? Or maybe Ant-Man 3?

Post subject:  Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion

That sounds about right with perhaps a surprise or two thrown in.

Rumor has it that Spider-Man 3 will have Deadpool.

So...

Feb. 2021 is Shang Chi
May 2021 is Doctor Strange 2
November 2021 is Thor 4

Guessing Black Panther 2 will be 2022? Surprised they're waiting so long.

Yeah longer than expected for BP but they would have a reason plus looks like Disney Plus shows will link up to the 2021 movies so that is priority.

We also don't know if Blad will be a show or film.

The F4 have also been confirmed but no release date or whether they will be introduced in another film which will be my guess.

Wow no one saw Blade coming. That would probably benefit from the February date more. Though that would mean one of Spidey 3, Black Panther 2 or Guardians 3 would be pushed out of phase 4.

I'm guessing these are:

February 18, 2022 - Black Panther 2
May 6, 2022 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
July 29, 2022 - Blade

Captain Marvel in Nov 2022?

Another perfect casting by Marvel too. Marhershala Ali as Blade is gonna be amazing.

And The Multiverse of Madness? Now that is a great title. Love and Thunder is very silly but I’m sure it will be a silly movie.

If Marvel thinks they can include their fucking TV shows in "phase 4" they can go fuck themselves.

Yeahhh the shows could be A+ quality but its still not the same. The Defenders didn’t even make the final battle vs Thanos.
