Just got the press release of the German distributor that they purchased the distribution rights for Rambo V. Stallone has written the screenplay and it will be about Rambo going up against a Mexican cartel (the plotline that has been rumored three years ago). It sounds weird that we haven't heard anything about that before, especially since the deal was made in Cannes apparently, but the distributor is the real deal. They also released Rambo, The Expendables/The Expendables 2, The Last Stand and Sabotage in Germany, so.... |

This isn't really news, but anyway, I think this is a bad decision. Stallone needs to drop these characters. Rambo gave John J. a great sending off, coming full-circle. Why go at it again?? It's stupid. It really is. The Mexican drug cartel idea is also not very good. If they have to make one, it should be about his farmhouse being ambushed by a cartel or mafia or something, and he needs to use his surroundings to fend them off. But really, whatever plotline you have, it's going to stink compared to his previous outings. You just cannot top them. |

It is better than the genetically manipulated monster idea that rips off Predator. And this is news because the project was actually on hold and no one actually expected it ton get off the ground. With the rights being purchased, it looks official. Oh and also because of this http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=119794 ![]() |

The very entertaining fourth film did nicely round out the franchise, but I am not entirely opposed to another one. I am not in love with the Mexican-cartel idea, however. Feels a bit safe and trite. |

In fact, I prefer the Rambo V story where he was going to go back and fight against the Taliban. Rambo's place is in a warzone. |

Glad The Thing rip off is gone, as is the missing girl storyline (though this seems to be more in line with that as I believe it too involved the cartel,) this could be interesting, but Rambo needs to be in a jungle, not on the streets of Mexico. Either way, there's no way it can be worse than Part III. I found Rambo to be even better than Part II (Which I still love, but Stallone got way too preachy with that film, that it does feel dated outside of the action scenes) |

I do love most of his films. Rambo III isn't awful but it's painfully generic. There are a couple cool moments but it forces some really bad humor, adds a stupid kid, and I still don't know what is the point of the 20 minute horse rugby/polo scene. Stallone isn't God, God would have mercy. |

The humour in Rambo III is subtle, not forced at all. Forced humour is the crap that is in The Avengers and Thor and whatever shit that Marvel produces. A franchise where humour is not needed yet it is shoved into all moviegoers' faces; that's Marvel in one. The horse scene is about 5 minutes, and it leads to a battle. It is necessary to present the Muhajideen people as humane, civil, normal people, and a race that embraces Rambo, an outsider, into their community...then the Russians come in and destroy the place. Cue motivation to fight their war for them. It's simple movie scripting, actually...which I'm surprised you weren't the first to point out. The specifics of the game are irrelevant, and I assume to show another cultures' past time is not something you appreciate. Would you have preferred if the Afghan people were playing basketball? You would be the first to lambaste the film for that. The kid can speak two languages, and you cannot even speak English correctly. So who really is the stupid one? Like I said before, go and fuck yourself. |

First Blood is far and away my favorite Rambo film. It is close to perfect. I love the early, more grounded characterization of Rambo, as well as the forest setting. Then Rambo, closely followed by the second film. Then the third. I enjoy each, though. |

Rambo is by far the worst. It doesn't even feel like a Rambo film. |

Rambo III is the worst. The box-office agrees, critics agree, the world agrees. Accept that you are in the minority. Also I like the fact that you are arguing screenwriting 101 as a positive. The sequence was written entirely by Stallone, who wanted to show off his horse riding skills he had learned in 1987. The actual sport of Buzkashi is much more interesting than depicted in the film. The film in general is poorly written, terribly paced, and so "Un Rambo" in terms of storytelling. Rambo is miles above it. I understand your Grandma and Uncle force fed you the film as a child. But it's no good. We all have those films. It's no biggie man. |

I've never argued, not even for a second, that I am in the majority here. I love the films that I love. You love the films that IMDB tells you to love. It's simple, man. |

Good one! Rambo III sucks, let's move on. I'm indifferent over Part V, it kind of reminds me of the latest Die Hard. It's not like the last one did crazy business either. I wish Stallone would put his talents elsewhere. Where are you Quentin, you asked him to be in two films and he turned you down both times. Don't give up! |
