I imagine this will also result in a delay and possible departure of the cast, depending on how long the delay is and how tight their contracts are. Knowing Marvel they are both already signed on for 10 films. This really sucks though. So much of Edgar's time wasted when he could have been making another classic.

It sure doesn't make a lot of sense to make this move now. Edgar basically took this from the page up and was the one who convinced Marvel to take a chance on Ant-Man in the first place. Ten years they have been working on it, what could have possibly gone wrong this late in the game? They might as well scrap the whole movie now. It was probably gonna be a huge bomb even with Edgar, now it will even have the nerds against it. What a disaster. |

Now Drew Goddard has exited the Daredevil TV series. I guess we are seeing a major purge of the nerds. Joss Whedon won't make it to Avengers 3.

/Film reports that Marvel is talking to Adam McKay, Reuben Fleischer and Rawston Thurber. McKay would arguably be a step up from Wright, although I can't imagine why he'd want to do this. |

Okay, so it's pretty clear which direction Marvel wants to go with this film and they are not hiding it either. Not sure whom I'd pick from those three. I guess Ruben Fleischer. |

So I'm becoming a little hopeful that this whole process will be such a disaster that Disney will have to bring Edgar back just to fix the mess. I'd rather see him do an original, or even The Night Stalker, but he's put so much damn time into this movie that it would be such a shame to not see it through to the end. |

Peyton Reed gets the job. Break Up, Bring It On and Down With Love are all solid chick movies, but its a weird choice a major Marvel property. |

Prior to The Winter Soldier Joe and Anthony Russo have directed You, Me and Dupree and Welcome to Collingwood. And yet The Winter Soldier was one of Marvel's best. BTW, Adam McKay will do rewrites on the screenplay now. |
