It's a dead heat between Adam West and Kevin Conroy (Mask Of Phantasm) - - both were the greatest Batman so far. |

1. Keaton 2. Kilmer 3. Conroy 3. Bale 4. West 5. Clooney None have really done a bad job. Clooney in particular was ruined by a bad film. |

Bale Kilmer Keaton Clooney I scarcely remember the animated series (I watched a few episodes here and there when I was a little kid, but I don't remember what happened in any of them), so I'll leave Conroy off the list. Ditto for Adam West and the '60s series. Bale easily leads the pack, but I still feel as though Val Kilmer never really got a fair shake at the Batman role. He had the charm and mystique of Bruce Wayne down pat, and his Batman was somewhat intimidating, but it's obvious that Batman Forever's darker edges were dulled by studio interference, and Schumacher went along with it. |

I've always been more partial towards Burton's Batman because of the dark gothic atmosphere which I love especially Batman Returns. Second, animated series. A lot of people underappreciate this vision of Batman but to me he was incredible and very dark considering it was in cartoon form. I also really loved the characterizations of the villains especially Joke, Two Voice, and Clay Face. Third goes to Bale as Batman although the voice kind of got annoying after a while he was amazing as Batman. Fourth can go to Kilmer who I didn't mind as Batman, and Clooney was just awful. As for West never watched the old vintage Batman but from what I saw it looked very cheesy. |
