Bautista's making the same mistake...
...that Mark Sinclair made with The Pacifier and Dwayne Johnson made with Tooth Fairy. OR IS IT A MISTAKE? Looking at their careers post-children's film, they actually took off. Could be a wise move. This looks like a cross between The Spy Next Door and Tooth Fairy.

I would argue copying Vin and the Rock is the perfect move for him

Re: Bautista's making the same mistake...
Same with Arnold and twins and KC and even Eastwood with Any which way to name a few. Hell even Willis with look who’s talking, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams. It’s always good to tap into wider markets , even if you fail like Stallone did (though I do love Oscar, and Spy kids and Antz did good)
The only real difference is he’s not a viable box office star, and this won’t be theatrical most likely, so it’s kind of a non issue. He’s better off with smaller roles like Bond, Drax, and Bladerunner

His acting seems bad in the trailer

Re: Bautista's making the same mistake...
Vin and Dwayne were the leads in several movies before they took a kids film. Bautista has never been a lead before, at least not theatrically. I’m guessing he’s not getting too many lead roles thrown his way and jumped at the first chance. I don’t think he has the opportunity to be picky (at least judging by the trailer) if he wants to move up a couple of steps in his career. Then again it could pull a Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, where the trailer was shown in theaters last month and then suddenly appeared on VOD this month out of nowhere.

Saw the trailer for this as well and honestly it doesn't look that bad to me. Nothing I would rush out to see, but the stuff with Bautista and the kid looks like pretty harmless fun.

Bautista‘s more charming/funnier than The Rock so far. Hope his stardom keeps rising

Just saw the trailer for Stuber. Looks like he's going to lose his goodwill very quickly.
