 Top Ten 1983
1. Risky Business 2. Never Say Never Again 3. Trading Places 4. Return of the Jedi 5. Staying Alive 6. Project A 7. Superman III 8. Octopussy 9. WarGames 10. Scarface
The first year since 1980 where I can say that I am happy with the Top Ten, like...all of them are films that I've enjoyed. So far (1980-82), the Top Three have been excellent and the bottom three have just been in the "yeah, I saw that too" category.
What's your Top Ten pf 1983?

 Re: Top Ten 1983
I enjoy Krull.
Peter Yates was a strange director, the way he would alternate between camp-leaning B movies (The Deep, Krull) and rather mature and sophisticated films, such as The Friends of Eddie Coyle and The Dresser. He may have found the perfect balance of the two impulses with Bullitt.

I'm betting that anyone who doesn't have Paul Verhoeven's The Fourth Man on their 1983 top ten list hasn't seen it.

David wrote: I am betting anyone who doesn't have Pauline at the Beach on their list hasn't seen it! It's true, I haven't seen it. However, it is one of the movies I'm consciously "saving" to watch later in life (I think I've mentioned this on KJ on other occasions). It joins such films as Lawrence Of Arabia, Breakfast At Tiffany's, La Dolce Vita, A Streetcar Named Desire, Seven Samurai, Midnight Cowboy, Network, & Metropolis, all of which I'm reserving for special treats in the future.
