Are they working on the additional 90 episodes? Three years for 10 episodes? Game of Thrones doesn't take that long. And the show was canceled. The 90 episodes thing was a fun idea for a short time until it was realized that shows like Anger Management (the Sheen trainwreck) would be getting 90 episodes over two years.

It was in development for like 2 went into production for a year. I actually thought the show wasn't bad. Easily their best sitcom yet. Ratings were rough though.

Re: Once popular actors/actresses whose careers went nowhere
Now I know he was mainly TV, but wasn't David Boreanaz meant to the next big thing? And Neve Campbell if not already mentioned is a definite candidate. She disappeared. Actually I think I mentioned her before.

Re: Once popular actors/actresses whose careers went nowhere
I think you did mention Neve Campbell. And Boreanaz seems he just never got out of TV, his movies just didn't pan out. 15 years ago you'd say he would become one of the hot young stars of Hollywood, but clearly it seem he just didn't have the talent for that.
Thinking about it, Lautner is Boreanaz 2.0.

I don't recall Boreanaz ever trying to get out of doing TV. He's been pretty successful in that medium.

Re: Once popular actors/actresses whose careers went nowhere
How about Adam Brody? I thought he'd have had a bigger film career than he's had. Especially considering he seems like he'd fit the Apatow style of comedy. I mean Justin Long has had a better film career

Considering the rest of the cast of The OC. He's done ok. I find him pretty annoying in almost everything he does though.

I think he sees himself as a serious actor. So he's waiting long enough for people to forget the shit movies he was in.

Is there even any young actor from teen tv shows who's career in films went somewhere?

Mostly from the two cancellation cases Freaks and Geeks and My So-Called Life. For the hits, considering her talent Katie Holmes career has to be called a success too

Re: Once popular actors/actresses whose careers went nowhere
Armie Hammer was never popular to begin with, but after The Social Network he got a lot of praise for his performance, but that hasn't translated at the box office with two high-profile duds (The Lone Ranger; The Man from U.N.C.L.E.).

She got incredibly close with Robin Williams when they were working on "The Crazy Ones" and I think his death hit her hard, so she may be taking a self-imposed hiatus. She's pretty active on social media and would still be a name for a TV show for sure - I think she'll end up doing another series soon.

I wonder where his career goes from here. Not a bad springboard for getting into an indie and doing well in the awards season. Then again, he already tried that with Nymphomaniac. Though I'm not sure that is the right type of indie you want to be getting into for awards. lol

God, Michelle Williams is such an interesting case. Three Oscar nominations in the last ten years. The mother of Heath Ledger's child. And her movies are usually successful if they try to be remotely commercial. But she's still probably the most obscure Dawson's Creek cast member to laypeople. Johnny Depp was a teen idol on a decent-running series that, while in a slump now, had a really good run and is probably never going to be a not-name at this point. Blake Lively's career just got a shot in the arm, and I still think she'll go the way of the Party of Five people.

Re: Once popular actors/actresses whose careers went nowhere
On the subject of actors from teen shows whose career either went nowhere or actually got somewhere, I feel like Dylan O'Brien is someone whose career could go either way. Maze Runner was a pretty solid hit, especially worldwide, but he's not really achieved much outside of that. I think he's talented, but I'm not sure where he'll go.
