Due to the 20-option limit (nineteen factoring in "other"), I had to cut more than a few notable titles, including 47 Ronin, Frozen, Inside Llewyn Davis, Jack Ryan, Oldboy, Out of the Furnace, and Riddick. Captain Phillips The Counselor Gravity If John Curran's Tracks (premiering in Toronto in September) comes out this year, it would definitely shoot up to a place in the top three. |

Is it me or is this season more packed than usual? There's so much I want to see. That's a good thing, of course. Gravity is my #1 most anticipated. |

It appears particularly crowded with FX driven tent-pole releases. There is always a boatload of intriguing dramas and upscale comedies this time of year because of Oscar lust. |
