 Friday the 13th and South Park sequels coming! "Early plans are underway for both a new South Park feature film as well as another franchise entry in the Friday the 13th series. What's more, it's all thanks to Christopher Nolan's upcoming original sci-fi tale Interstellar and a deal made between Paramount and Warner Bros. Pictures. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that studio cooperation on the Nolan film has given Paramount partial rights to both properties for the next five years.
It has been nearly 15 years since the release of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut with the series that inspired it entering its 17th season this fall.
The Friday the 13th franchise, meanwhile, launched in 1980 and inspired nine direct sequels, a crossover film with the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Freddy vs. Jason and, most recently, a reboot from Platinum Dunes."http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=10511ยง _____________________________________________________________________________ So excited about another South Park feature!!

It's about time they do another South Park movie.

Re: Friday the 13th and South Park sequels coming! Similar, but not the same. Narnia was just Fox owning the rights instead of Disney. In this case, they share the rights.
Situations like this could allow for Spider-Man to pop up in The Avengers one day...

Re: Friday the 13th and South Park sequels coming! Salkinds selling Superman to Canon sounds familiar.
Also, I'm pretty sure Paramount and WB did a similar thing with Freddy Vs. Jason.
Kind of funny considering Paramount owned F13 for the first 8 films, maybe they'll bring do something better with it. South Park kind of just feels like too late now. I think the show has maybe a quarter of the viewers it had in it's prime.
