Not shocked at all. The first was a pretty big hit. Anyways, the first was honestly atrocious. It's become one of my least favorite movies Not excited at all for this one, and disappointed that Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne are returning since they both deserve better.

All mildly successful horror movies will now be franchises. So the term 'franchise' is also being diluted. I remember when that used to mean something.

 Re: Insidious Chapter Two?!
Honestly I'm anticipating this more than any of the PA movies, or the majority of the Saw flicks. Especially if Wan, Whannell, Wilson and Byrne are all coming back for it.
I'm not so much shocked it's happening. I'm shocked the main leads and the writer & director are back. That rarely happens on horror sequels.

Wan and Whannell have been signed for this since the first one hit.

Wan took a step back, but Whannell wrote both Saw II and Saw III.

 Re: Insidious Chapter Two?!
The first was pretty terrible. I could never understand why people found it scary and it seemed to have pretty good WOM. I may see the sequel, but I wouldn't be looking forward to it.

 Re: Insidious Chapter Two?!
Trying to find a franchise that hasn't sold out/pushed it too far is really difficult. I'd like to find a series of movies where the owner/director actually refuses to make another because they feel that the art is more important than the money.

 Re: Insidious Chapter Two?!
I still can't believe how terrible and overrated the first one is.
