It was good, but not quite top ten material - - the one that's currently giving me pause for thought is Silver Linings Playbook.

What difference does that make?

Well you're laughing at his list and it sounds like you haven't seen any of the films he has listed thus making your statement useless.

Meh, Algren just doesn't like me. It's fine, I don't really care for him either.

I don't dislike you at all. I respect your opinion and knowledge of movies.

I was laughing because all of your picks are very critic-friendly, thus making your score the highest (surely this isn't news to you that you're known as a film snob, right? I'm sure baumer has joked with you many times about it before). I certainly wasn't laughing at your choice in films based on quality, and I can't see how you would think I did think that. I've seen three, to answer your question.

Gopher doesn't come across as a film snob to me, at least not moreso than others on these here boards.

Yeah, there's snobbier people here at WOKJ compared to BOM where he was the most snobby. Then again, just look at that score.

Not all film critics are snobs though, I would never consider a film like Skyfall to be a snobfest despite its high Metacritic score, the Master on the other hand...

Yep, you're right.

Gopher doesn't list Skyfall but does list The Master. Just saying.. :funny:

Skyfall is wonderful. It's in my top 20. You haven't seen The Master.

Your point?

You can't see it? Not too bright are you, Gophes. ;) My point is obviously that you are a film snob. I haven't seen Skyfall either but I know that it's far more commercial than The Master and others on your list (hence the film snob comment). Anyway, it was only some light banter. No need to get your panties in a twist. I'm sure you've come across this before.
