I haven't seen the first one yet. Though those minions totally remind me of Toy Story aliens. Visually at least, I don't know how much they're used in the movie, but I'm guessing more than underused aliens in TS. The Minion marketing has been used for DM extensively. I guess they make a big impression.

Looking at the growing popularity of IA series as a whole, I'm definitely in the minority about the whole thing, not just Scrat. :thumbsup: I barely managed to sit through the boredom of the first movie. I'll probably never even check out the sequels.

If you found Ice Age to be derivative, boring, and soulless, then I strongly suggest you never, ever watch Despicable Me.

Despicable Me was overrated but it's still charming.

I don't know why they're making a DM2 either than MONIEZ.

Maybe they can surprise like Blue Sky did with IA3. It's not like anyone is taking them seriously yet.

This movie needs to avoid overexposure and putting those little minions in EVERYTHING.

This is what happened to Kung Fu Panda 2. He was in so many little specials and the character didn't get a chance to be missed.

When are we, you know, going to see the actual main characters of the film advertised? If it's just going to be Minions, then the film is going to suck.

It makes sense, though. The minions are easily the most marketable part of the film.

It's a sequel to Despicable Me. Cute and surprisingly clever as that movie was, it didn't really demand a sequel, so I haven't been expecting a whole lot on the quality side of the equation.
