1. The Dark Knight Rise A+
2. The Dark Knight A+
3. Memento A+
4. Inception A
5. Batman Begins A
6. The Prestige B+

Inception has most of my favorite Nolan moments, but the film does not quite reach the love I have for TDKR, TDK and Memento, I remember being completely floored by Memento.

Post Re: Your favorite Christopher Nolan movie?
was just thinking about this as I watch Inception (actually my least favorite of Nolan's 'big' movies)

The Prestige gets me most on a gut-level. Just fascinating and enthralling and wrenching to watch, every time. I agree with what Magnus said about it. Bale and Jackman, two of my favorite actors, give some of their best performances ever. Haunting and so, so good.

After that would be, on relatively equal footing but for different reasons, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Memento. Memento is thrilling and original in the way it tells a very morbid story, and the first two Batmans in his trilogy are near-perfect for me, just hittin all the right notes that vibe so good in my genital region.

The Dark Knight Rises follows very closely behind the previous Batman installments, for reasons that I can't quite elucidate, just didn't work quite as well for me. Still in "love" territory though.

Inception deserves only normal size font, even though I have great respect for the craftsmanship of this movie. Very impressive, just kind of empty for me. Insomnia on the same level.

Sooooo.....

A+
The Prestige

Memento
Batman Begins
The Dark Knight

A
The Dark Knight Rises

B+
Inception
Insomnia

Interstellar really has the potential to be his best film. We'll see where it ranks come December.

Everybody has told me this, including many people on WOKJ, and I actually have Memento on my computer. But because everybody ranks it so high, I want to give a proper time slot for it. I want to reserve a few hours, be in the right mood, with no interruptions etc., so I never seem to find the appropriate time to watch it.

I understand that... the idea of a movie becomes almost intimidating sometimes... Like you want to give it proper respect and attention because of its acclaim, but then never feel quite up to the "task."

But still you should watch Memento just to enjoy it. F-it if you think it's as good as people say.
