I have a hunch about that shocker.

Oh, what a way to start the top 20. It's a shame what Batman and Robin did, it destroyed Bruce Wayne for a full 8 years. The joke of all movie communities indeed.

Hey, I have an idea! Lets make the near-climax of the movie a scene where a man eats his own testicle! Woohoo! TomCats was a movie that should've been right up my alley, unfornately it failed in every single way. Unfunny, awful everywhere else anyways, just the worst gross out comedy ever created. The bottom of the barrel.

Ever see a movie where you just sit back in the first 5 minutes of the film, and you know you are watching a work of quality in every way? Taxi is completley the opposite. Within the first 5 minutes, it made it's impression immediatley fast just how bad it really was. Between Jimmy Falloon, a taxi with turbo-jets, 3 girls in skimply clothes who rob banks, the main plot twist involving a garbage truck route, ridicoulous direction everywhere, and the fact it's just completley uninteresting, the point gets across just so easily. Taxi isn't just a bad movie, Taxi is an awful movie. One of the worst technical movies ever made for sure.

Flightplan was quite simply, as baumer states, possibly the dumbest thriller ever made. Everything about the plot is so ridicoulous, nothing is plausible or makes any sense whatsoever. The atmosphere, acting(even from normally good Foster and Saarsgrad), direction, editing, basically everything else, was up to awful par as well. Coming in I knew it was trashed, but I was not prepared for the hurricane distaste it gave me. It was overwhelmingly terrible, unbelievably.

Yeah, don't ask once again. I almost kept it off the list because of how small of a film it was, but I had to stuff it on just for the "Oh my god" level it reaches.

Dun dun dun. Yes, Lost in Translation is the shocker choice that I was referring to before. Now, my justification. As a movie, Lost in Translation is a) Plotless, b) Boring, c) Unfunny, d) Cheap, and e)...The most critically acclaimed film of the decade? I mean, I just don't get it. I don't care if there was some sort of hidden message in it that I apparantley missed, it doesn't change what it is. It's Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson walking around in a hotel for 2 hours, doing jack-all. There is no story to it, no point at all. It's so damn useless. And even in that path, it absolutely cannot keep interest either. There's sloppy and long 5 minute phone conversations and karaoke montages throughout, that just bore to death. And does it pull off funny? No. It has Japenese kids screaming, and Anna Faris being dramatic. That's it. But the biggest problem of all, which I have to revert back to, is the lack of any plot or story whatsoever. I have never in my life seen a film that has had less in this department, ever. That is what lands it on the list. It is missing the most key element to a movie by far, and throughout it just feels completley unenjoyable and overall completley useless. Ugh.

Definitly the worst animated film that I have ever seen, it's a disgrace. There's a big problem with your kids CGI film has 0 laughs, and is geniunley one of the top 2 most boring films of the year. I mean, for a CGI kids comedy! Come on. Drech, awful, unbearable, I feel like puking when I think about it.

12.
Image

Poor Gwenyth Paltrow. I don't think much needs to be said about this one, it's one of those movies where you absolutely 100% know it's going to be bad far before actually seeing it. In this case, it dipped farrrrrr below those expectations still. Part of the 3 2003 movies to make the top 12, and proof that even amazing actresses can star in some of the worst movies ever.

2006's hefty contribution, it's no undeserving one. Never has there been a movie I've that has fallen on it's face so much. It sits in front of you, and you're realizing the entire time that the movie is just that wilting...

Flightplan was stupid, but entertaining. Nowhere near the worst ever.

I am glad you remembered Tomcats, though. Terrible, terrible film.

Agree completely on Lost in Translation. What a boring, useless, pretentious film. One of the most overrated movies I've ever seen.

Of your worst 50, and the ones I've seen, the only one which I don't think should be there is Hellboy, which was fun. But Batman & Robin, Date Movie, Rollerball, Charlie's Angels 2, Serving Sara, The Whole Ten Yards? All total crap. Good work. ;)

Elf was a weird as hell case for me. When it came out, it was one of my most anticipated EVER. And when I came out hating it, I didn't hate it because it failed to meet my anticipation. I hated it wayyyyyyy more than that. I've never seen a comedy so painful to watch. It was like I wanted to laugh, but I didn't a single time. Every joke made me cringe, it's like the whole thing was made completley opposite my senses. And weirdly, even though the movie had great legs, everyone in my theatre coming out said it sucked too. Then I saw it again on a plane horrifically with my dad, and he also said it sucked. Maybe it's something in the water I drink.

Elf wasn't that great, but I liked it.

If it hasn't been on the list already, I expect The Legend of Zorro to be coming up shortly.

The Legend of Zorro holds a special place on my bottom list, as it was bar none the worst movie experience I've ever had. Something through that 2 and a 1/2 hours messed with my brain in a bad way, it was like the trigger in Zoolander. If you recall the thread in Everyone's a Critic, I came home typing away at it almost in tears because of how it psychologically got to me. It was like it sent me into a hole, I felt like I wanted to die. I eventually got over it, but it still stays lodged in my brain. And oh yeah, the movie sucked hard anyways. In my heart I actually wanted to put this as #1, but I know the top 7 are much worse films.

One of the biggest bombs ever made and deservingly so. "Wow" was my first reaction. Makes me glad that I haven't seen much other sci-fi travestys like Battlefield Earth, I couldn't handle it. Eddie Murphy is still cool though, obviously.

Hey hey hey! Other comedies on the list failed because all the jokes fell flat, but Fat Albert didn't even try. After the first 30 minutes, there's no jokes whatsoever. Boring, not heartwarming, shit as a movie. It's hard to get much worse. Even Kenan sucked, but he'll redeem himself this summer...

Summer Catch is Freddie Prinze Jr.'s ultimate achievement. It blows all his other shit out of the water, in the name of making awful cinema. I bow down to the king.

Me, on an airplane trip circa 2003:

Oh look, the movie on this flight is First Daughter! It looks like shit, but I guess I'll watch anyways. It's not like I have anything better to do for the trip.

-2 hours later-

OH MY GOD.

Yes, Golddiggers really IS that bad. It came at a pre-KJ time where I didn't know all the bad PR this had, I thought it was going to be Eric and Sherman digging in a gold mine or something. Dorm Daze was pretty funny, so it hit unexpected. Oops.
