Clooney is hard to like. He's played smug playboy so often now im so blah about him.

And yet so so many people do like him.

The only reason I'd see it is for Clooney. The plot doesn't sound interesting and Reitman is 1 for 2 right now.

Haha. I think about 80% of the female population seriously disagree with you.

Have you been walking about with your eyes and ears shut for the last 10 years?

I think so.

I don't find him attractive. But he's clearly not hard to like, no argument.

I don't have too much beef against Reitman (Stupid Oscar nod be damned), though hopefully the screenplay for this is stronger than his first two films. At least Clooney in the lead hints at something closer to the better of his two films (...Smoking works as well as it does almost entirely thanks to the wonderful Eckhart).

Sorry but I love Reitman. Argue over Juno all you want, but I think it has excellent direction.
I'll this for him.

What did you think of Thank You For Smoking?

See, no matter what one thought of Juno...I just fail to see how of all things its direction was anything special.

I don't find Jay's direction particularly offensive or good. It's just there, total nonevent. The crazy success of Juno was a byproduct of Fox Searchlight, Moldly Peaches, a stripper turned screenwriter, and Ellen Page.

However, I thought the script he wrote for Thank You For Smoking was aces. So all isn't lost.
