There are definite advantages culturally for living in a big city, especially NY or LA or Boston or Chicago... Having spent 12 years in Boston and 5 in NYC I did enjoy taking advantage of those sorts of things. On the other hand, I lived in small apartments, had noisy neighbors, had my car broken into many times, had trouble paying the bills sometime, had to deal with the constant noise of traffic, and was often afraid to walk home at night from the subway. It's all a trade off I guess. I suppose if I were really rich the city would be a lot more appealing to me, but whenever I miss the great things about the culture, I remind myself of all the bad things. |

make sure you don't miss 2001... when I got the chance to see that in a theater, I went from really liking it to adoring it. |
