hmm, I can't decide whether this is typically idiotic or halfway worth pursuing......I'll make up my mind and get back to you.

Oh, this is a worthwhile thread this time around.
I've only seen one so I can't really say.
A&D should not have failed.
Also NATM2 since I saw a bit of it I'll say deserved.

The only ones I've seen are Terminator and Trek... Terminator should definitely be higher, at least around a 60%. Trek was great, but I don't know if it really deserved one of the best scores of the year.

You know, I think for two wide releases coming out on the same weekend Up and DMTH have the best combined rotten tomatoes rating ever. I mean a 98% and a 94%! I doubt we will see this again for a long time...

looking at the RTs. (190 view count)

Up (2009) > http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/up/
Reviews Counted: 144
Fresh: 141
Rotten:3 > Do you agree with the 3 negatives at all?
Average Rating: 8.6/10

* Armond White, New York Press
All this deflated cinema and Pixarism mischaracterizes what good animation can be (as in Coraline, Monster House, Chicken Little, Teacher’s Pet, The Iron Giant). Up’s aesthetic failure stems from its emotional letdown.

* Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal
The characterizations are fairly coarse cartoons, in contrast to the emotionally rich cartoons that have become Pixar's hallmark. They're more schematic than organic, and that applies to the plotting as well.

* Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com
Its charms appear to have been applied with surgical precision; by the end, I felt expertly sutured, but not much else.

Reviews Counted: 136

Rotten:8 > Do you agree with these 8 at all?Average Rating: 7.8/10

* Christian Toto, What Would Toto Watch?
Drag Me to Hell? More like sauntering through purgatory.

* Erik Childress, eFilmCritic.com
Raimi's fans will no doubt be pleased that he's whipping out the greatest hits. But just the same, it's the greatest hits package equivalent to Peter Gabriel's best-of album not including In Your Eyes.

* James Berardinelli, ReelViews
Parts of it are entertaining, although I'm not convinced they're enjoyable entirely for the reasons intended by the filmmakers.

* John Hartl, Seattle Times
[The characters are] so innocuous, and they're played with so little verve, that you don't feel a strong identification when their lives are wrecked.

* Kyle Smith, New York Post
Drag Me to Hell is pure cheese. Goat cheese.

* Peter Howell, Toronto Star
Apart from the evocative title, which is a great nod to '50s drive-in fare, the film is as predictable as a meal beneath the golden arches.

* Rex Reed, New York Observer
The true test of any successful horror flick is how wretched it makes you feel. At the very least, it should inspire a banquet of dread or offer a canapé of anxiety. After Drag Me to Hell you won’t mind walking home alone.

* Robert Levin, Critic's Notebook
The freewheeling spirit that infused The Evil Dead is absent here.

See Z, as per your comment in another thread, the good thing about this thread is that any new person can come in and comment on all the movies at one time.....like the one above....

or an older person can talk about all the RT's at the same time.
