The last one's only real problem was it lacked a good male counterpart. Bill Murray was awesome, and Sam Rockwell was a good villian, Bernie Mac was really out of place. Good move making a man the villian again, and it would be awesome if they got Murray Back, though considering that him and Lucy had a famous fight on the set of the first, it seem wishful thinking.

Charlie should be seen in this one though as it seems like it would be the last.

The 2nd made more than enough profit in theaters. People always forget about the merchandising deals that almots pay off a budget in no time, and Charlies Angels is always filled to death with product placement. It did pretty well on DVD as well as selling TV rights. Charlies Angels 2 may have only made like 300 million in profit, really, they should bring it back, move it back to december as the 2nd only had decent legs thanks to the crowded summer, and it should do pretty well.

If they're going to do one, find some way of bringing Crispin Glover back

I'm game. The first was disappointing and surprisingly dull, but the second was a blast.

I actually nearly pissed myself when i read this over at JOblo.

Honestly, the first two are my favourite action movies.

Especially the second one....you don't get bored for a second, i'v been in love with Drew and Cameron since I can remember and the soundtracks are awesome.

I think these are good action movies for women but despite the sexiness of the leads, men arent into it quite as much.

Most of the people i know who liked the movies are female.

Thats reflected in the IMDB grades which i think were sort of harsh because people like to be critical of dumb action movies.

but women on average gave it 0.7 grades higher than men, and women under 18 gave the second 6.3/10 - its highest grade, and a higher grade than that aud gave the first movie.

Seeing the first two films airing like crazy on cable recently got me to wondering why franchise-crazy Sony hasn't tried to reboot this series yet. Get some people like Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence or Mila Kunis, etc.

Even the second film, which is considered a disaster, made over 100m domestic. They just spent way, way too much on it.

You'd need 3 different ethnicities nowadays.

Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence are too ugly. So you'd have Mila Kunis, some Chink, and some black girl...which would make it crap. Better leave this franchise.

Surprisingly Diaz is still doing great (13 100 million films, and maybe 3 this year?) Barrymore mostly produces now, but Blended should at least do 70 million. Lui on the other hand hasn't really starred in a film since the Kill Bill Vol. 1 and CA2 11 years ago. After the flops of Cleaner and Lucky Number Sleven she really stopped. Lucky she has a CBS show now. Even if they suck they are good for 6 seasons.

I was always surprised they never did a sequel, but 06 would have been the time to do it. FT didn't embarrass itself in 03 which was a ridiculous time for action films. I mean it out did Hulk. But it had Hulk the week before and T3 and Legally Blonde 2 the following weekend, then Pirates and LXG, then Bad Boys 2. Lara Croft on the other hand (Released 4 weeks after CA2) got completely lost in the shuffle. Another sequel in 06 probably could have opened in the 40 million range and do 120 again. Move back to Christmas as well.

I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Barrymore back in some capacity (perhaps as the film's "Bosley") when they do eventually reboot this. I'm assuming her production company still controls the film rights since she was involved in the failed ABC series a few years back.

Diaz is 41, Lui is 45 and Barrymore is 39! Man, it's crazy that Barrymore isn't even 40 yet. Such a bizarrely interesting career over the last 32 years.

The problem is that female star power really isn't what it was 12 years ago. I mean outside of Diaz, Bullock, and Jolie, no one has really broken out the last few years except the really younger starlets. And it's not like McAdams, Adams, and others that are in there mid 30s are either big stars or looking to be in big action films.

What is there really. Maybe Emily Blunt or Keira Knightly, then someone American, then someone like Zoe Saldana, Paula Patton, etc. The star power of all 3 of the originals worked really well, all coming off of really solid hits.

Those would be good choices. Film would be a bigger hit than the other two. And yeah, it is surprising they haven't tried to reboot the series yet. Not counting the TV series anyway.

It's funny that Sony is having Paul Feig turn Ghostbusters into a female centric action/comedy franchise when this property is just gathering dust. Granted, I don't want to see Melissa McCarthy as an "Angel" either, but still.

I think any chances of a new movie went out the window when the recent TV show bombed.
