Well, looks like they're making a sequel to the completely forgettable Sandra Bullock "film" The Net. Seems it's not so much a sequel as it is a modern day retelling of the factually inept original's plot and themes. Hopefully they'll iron out all those pesky logic flaws and show us a version of the internet that doesn't melt from your computer screen whenever you press escape.

Anyway, the real reason I'm posting this bit of news is because of the plot description Production Weekly gives:

Quote:
Hope Cassidy who arrives in Istanbul to start a new job as a computer systems analyst only to have her identity stolen, her credit cards become invalid, and her bank account emptied. Having left her new boyfriend, James Pond, behind in Los Angeles, and having her new job hijacked by ZZ, a local haircutter who calmly insists she's Hope Cassidy, Hope finds herself on the lam from the authorities, who claim she's guilty of murdering a cop and stealing $14 million.

Her new boyfriend's name is James Pond, heh. Guess things didn't work out with Kid Chameleon!

I rented the original a few months ago and it was one of the worst I've seen in a while.

If bullock doesnt do the sequel then they shoud get brooke langton. she played her character on the tv series. Even though i dont think they will get her since brooke is not a major star. I think probably get someone like jennifer garner or maybe jessica biel.

There's nothing odd or funny about the name James Pond. But there's a lot odd and funny about making a sequel to that junky movie.

I too am a sucker for Sandra Bullock, so I liked The Net. But a sequel is just... WTF? It has been years and years since the first, so why?

wow, that's weird. i think this might be the start of a trend. look what i found about house of wax:

Quote:
The film (considerably different from the 1953 version that had Vincent Price as the mad curator of a wax museum specializing in life-like replicas) follows a group of youngsters whose car breaks down in a small town, where local loony mechanic Eddie Honda (“Hey, it’s that guy” guy Brian Van Holt) tries to coat them in wax and add them to his collection of figures.
