Should "SIN CITY" Be Rated-R or PG-13??

Post subject:  Should "SIN CITY" Be Rated-R or PG-13??
Occasionally, I see this film title popping up in discussions and granted, I've never read the comic or know anything really about it other than it has quite an all Star Cast in the movie along with Violence, Profanity, Drug Use, etc and was wondering what this movie should be Rated since it hasn't been Rated yet?? :-k I read in Entertainment Weekely recently an interview with Director Robert Rodriguez, the guy who's Directing this movie, and he said he was approached by the Studio to clean this movie up ALOT.. When a Studio says to clean the movie up and stresses ALOT, do you think this movie will fall victim to the PG-13 Rating nonsense like all other films seem to be nowadays in an effort to slowly but surely do away with the R Rating in movies cause it sells more and puts more butts in the seats?? :-k Anyone familiar with SIN CITY??? Could this movie MAYBE get by with a PG-13 Rating or is the Studio shooting themselves in the foot by cleaning it up for more $$$ with a PG-13 Rating??? Where do we draw the line on all this PG-13 vs R-Rated crap???

I've not read the comics but I don't think it will be PG lol but I don't see it as being an R-rated one either lol I look forward to this film Clive Owens looks hot and the whole film looks really good from what i've seen.

Actually, I said PG-13 but my title was too long and it cutoff the "13" portion so I shortened it..

This is about as literal an adaption as you'll get, even to the point of having Frank Miller co-directing. It's violence and nudity will make it R rated.

Wait... what?

How does a PG13 rating equate to "more effects" and "mind blowing scenes"?

And yes, this needs to be R rated. It's coming from Dimension, though, so I wouldn't count out anything.

Yeah, what are you talking about Algren? If you just go on the title of the movie, it shoudl imply an "R" rating... [-o< ...but then again, I don't run the film studio and make the decisions.

R!!!!!!

This movie has GOT to be rated R and there's no chance it won't be. Except for the SPY KID flicks, all of Rodriguez's flicks hae been R, all of Tarantino's movies are R and the movie is about strippers, hit men, gangsters etc; And if SIN CITY got a PG-13 rating the fan backlash would be huge. Besides, the movie doesn't need a lower rating...the movie is going to cross 100 million dollars for sure. The cast alone guarantees a solid opening, and the movie is sure to get rave reviews.

Sin City's R rating doesn't come from a random bare breast and a few swear words. As far as I can tell, the whole freakin' PLOT is R-rated. It's almost impossible to water it down. If Dimension was going to chicken out down to a PG-13 rating, they should done that years ago before they greenlighted the project, not now. :roll:
