ImageI just watched this movie, and I must say it is very underrated. I rarely ever see anybody talking about it here. Well anyway, I thought it was incredible. I loved the animation, and the characters are very lovable. The story is great, and music is just so well put together. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was younger, and no watching it at age 19 I am reminded of how wonderful it is. I found some parts very humorous such as Dumbo accidentally getting drunk, with the mouse, and they start to see pink elephants everywhere. That was so hysterical. Anyway, I just thought I would point out how much I enjoyed this movie, and it would definitely be in my Top 10 favorite Disney movies of all time. And Walt Disney said himself this was his favorite Disney film ever. I hope there are other people here that adore this movie just as much as I do.

I've stated it like 30 times between here and Box Office Mojo.

First the masterful creepy train ride in the rain. Dumbo's mom goes apeshit on everybody and gets locked up for being insane. Baby Mine is one of the most touching moments in cinematic history. Dumbo gets wasted. The dance of the pink elephants is still fucked up today. And then Dumbo meets the local negr... er I mean crows, and they teach him how to own the fat Britis... I mean, fat older elephants.

Yes.. Dumbo is an unexpected hero.. I also enjoy Johnny Appleseed, from the same era....

That's the best synopsis I've ever heard. :lol:

You forgot one thing though. He's not the ugly duckling turned swan, he was a freak in the beginning and was still the same freak at the end...he just learned great marketing techniques.

Everyone loves Dumbo, the only reason you think its under-rated is because its an oldbie, but i LOVVEEE it.

I never hear anyone mention accept for now, and other Disney movies are more highly prasied like The Lion King, and Aladdin. But I like the older Disney films better, although TLK and Aladdin were very good, and I enjoy them very much. I watch Dumbo, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland, and Snow White more often though.

like Michael said, its an old movie yet acknowledged to be good. Many of us grew up with it.

No one here has acknowledged classics like Bridge over the River Kwai, Guns of Neverone, Magnifienct Seven, Great Escape ... but just because of that, it doesn't mean they're underrated in any way. I'm sure a huge population of peopel here (who are proly older) have seen them and loved them ...

Which reminds me, I saw Magnificient Seven again the other day. Soooo cool!

Oh God!! You should!! Get your hands on them! Their dvds are selling for less than 10 bucks Canadian now so it shouldn't be a problem getting them. They're campy from today's standards though but still, some absolutely great story telling. The Great Escape is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Guns of Neveron is like a classic though I must admit I haven't seen it in over 14 years. Bridge Over the River Kwai .... thats just great film work.

Back home, they used to show these classics all the time and my mom would force us to sit down and see them cause she had seen them as a kid. I can never be more thankful.

Have you seen The Party? Pick that up too. My top comedy of all times.
