Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
Batman Begins is ranked 102nd on the IMDB Top 250, and considering its sequel sounds like it will, if anything, be better and better-liked than BB, it's safe to assume - in my opinion - that it will finish in the Top 100.
But just how high will it go?
I think this one's gonna enter the Top 50. Online hype is just ridiculous, and the movie is all set to match expectations. I think it'll finish 43rd.
Where do you think it'll finish?

Somewhere around 8.6 sounds about right. It appears from the reviews that there is no crappy microwave emitter plot for people to whine about, the fight scenes are actually visible this time around, and Maggie G. is a huge improvement over Katie Holmes. And two of the best characters of the Batman universe are being introduced in this movie. Should be very well-received based on everything we've heard so far.

Begins was in the top 90 for a couple of years after release. You're basically giving TDK a worse reception than Begins.

I think TDK will actually make it as high as 20 or 25 by some point, but like the other films that did that (TWBB and No Country were both in the Top 15 at some point), it'll fall after that. After a while, it might be closer to 100, but by the end of this year, with Ledger possibly winning an Oscar, I really think this'll stay in the Top 50.

Re: Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
I think it's going to have over a 9 rating with more than 10,000 votes. Probably a 9.2 or 9.3. And then it'll start gradually falling with more votes. There is one thing it has against it that BB didn't. This movie has a ton of hype and there are a lot of people already burying their heads in the sand and making up their minds that they hate it JUST because of the hype. Begins was very much a word of mouth kind of movie and I think that tends to mean the people voting for it on IMDB would likely be people who actually watch it. There's going to be a lot more 1's for TDK just based on the "going against the grain" crowd. It's the same bunch of idiots that gives Titanic a 1. Don't get me wrong, I feel L.A. Confidential got robbed at the Oscars that year, but that doesn't change the fact that Titanic is a pretty good movie overall.

but you have to understand, for every one person deciding to hate it because of the hype, there are about twenty that already know that they're gonna give it a 10/10 and love it no matter what. That's why its grade will be so incredible.

I know that much is true, and if it hopefully lives up to the hype, then I would think that number grows quite a bit because then you have the Begins factor coming into play, which is just good old fashioned word of mouth where people who went into it open minded gave it a 10 b/c they were blown away by it. That happened a lot with Begins. There were far less people giving it a 10 without seeing it than what will go on with TDK. That's why I figure on opening day it's going to be at a 9.6 or 9.7, something ridiculous like that.

It won't fall below Begins without something having gone wrong. I don't know if it'll crack the top 10, though. Maybe not even the top 25.

Re: Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
There's a certain point where a new movie simply can't get past a certain rank. The LOTR films are the only ones released since the creation of IMDB to manage to make the the Top 20.
but it definitely could finish around #50 or so.

#0. It'll get a 10.5 rating, easily.

This is very wrong, actually. I think you mean the top 2. No matter how good a film is, it will not get past Shawshank and the Godfather and that is a good thing. Its a male dominated site so films like the Godfather and The Good the Bad and the Ugly are widely respected.

I'd actually much prefer if it some films made it past Shawshank and The Godfather, considering neither are the best movie ever by any stretch.

Re: Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
well, imo IMDB is a list of the most beloved film imo.
It is male site and guys really really are attached to the whole Godfather thing. You know the whole "respect" thing.
Shawshank just has the most heartwarming ending since Its a Wonderful with James Stewart imo.
Wall E is a great animation picture but to any person who thinks it is the best film ever, you really need to watch some more movies.

Re: Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
Well, it's not like it's going to stay at #6 in the long run. And Wall-E is certainly better than Shawshank, and maybe better than The Godfather (Part 2 is better)? Yeah, it's a male-dominated site, so that's why it would be refreshing to see films that cater to different demographics make it high on the list.

Re: Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
Well I have seen Wall-E and it is a great animation picture and nothing more.
I do not consider new films (2 years or less), better then anything else until I watch them again.
As I though ROTK was the best film ever and now its just one of the best blockbusters of recent times and that's because there are a lot of shitty blockbusters.
Well, I would think the only movie that can break number 1 is Shawshank and it has come close. I would not mind The Good, The bad and The Ugly or even Godfather Part taking over those two. However, imo real movie fans have a number #1 film and rarely ever change it.
about Part 2, the Cuba scenes get boring but the Robert De Niro scenes are magic and the senate hearings at the end were great. I think Part 2 has a better storyline but you do not admire anyone. In Part 1, you really start to like and admire Don Vito and you feel sad when he died. I did not care for anyone else dieing.

Eh, I think Wall-E is a lot more than just "great animation." And I've already had repeat viewings to confirm that with myself.

Re: Predict where TDK will land on IMDB's Top 250.
Pixar films have a great story but they are getting very typical.
They have fun, and then the face a problem and then everyone's happy.
However, that is what every animation picture is like.
Nevertheless, I want something different because you just pick the exact moment in a pixar film where it goes from being fun and enjoyable to being a serious film with a theme or a message.
I however respect Pixar for creating animation for adults.
My order is
1. Finding Nemo 2. The Incredbiles. 3. Wall-E 4. Toy Story 1 and 2 5. Cars 6. Ratatouille 7. Monsters Inc 8. A bugs Life.
I think they should make these films every two years.

I know!!!!
Pixar films are the best animation pictures as they solve these problems in a serious way.
However, they have the respect and the ability to do something radical.
They did that with the The Incredbiles and it worked beautifully.

Agreed, TDK will likely reach number #8 or 9 and then fall out of the top 50.

I definitely think TDK will reach top 10. Over the long run, it and Wall-E might end up next to each other like how NCFOM and TWBB are, but higher than either of them.
