Saw VI reviews
Bloody-Disgusting gave it 7/10.... "In the end, SAW VI is faithful to the franchise and the twist/finale are 100% satisfying. SAW fans WILL walk out of the theater with their fists in the air with the feeling that they’ve reclaimed their beloved franchise" http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/film/1831/reviewThey gave Saw V 3/10. So it sounds like a step up. It's 22% with 9 reviews on RT. "Unnecssary and convoluted" - Dustin Putman "ranks somewhere between filing taxes and throwing out old, rotten pumpkins" - Metromix "A wild and brutal thrill ride" - Dread Central "No suspense or surprise" - St Paul Pioneer Press "Isn't quite as contemptuous of it's audience as Saw V was" - eFilmcritic.com "utterly bored" - Brian Orndorf "Fans will get what they expect, and not much more" - Empire "grinds along" -Screenwize

Re: Saw VI reviews
Saw 4 18% Saw 5 15%
Saw 6 is currently at 30% with 10 reviews.
Another positive one was added...
"This more straightforward sequel finally ties up the loose ends, without the gratuitous red-herrings or continuity distortions that have become tedious trademarks."- E! Online.

Re: Saw VI reviews
Ok, i'm guessing the consensus is that this Saw is an improvement over Saw 5.
Here's another 3 new positive reviews.
"Easily the best entry since Saw 2"- FearNet.
"the story feels more purposeful, more engaging and generally back on track" 3/5 - IGN
"'Saw VI' proves to be the one to pull the series out of its tailspin. Film No. 6 is not only good, it is really good"- Hollywood.com

Re: Saw VI reviews
Another positive one...
"it reverses the downward trend of its predecessors, but credit is also due to a movie that, this late in the game, manages to recapture some of the unsettling appeal the series started out with "- Fangoria

Re: Saw VI reviews
It's got 4 pages of threads on imDB posted within the last 3 hours.
These films still get a crazy amount of interest on the weekend of release, especially the first day. Tomorrow will be rife with all the fans talking about the film (good or bad.).
A look at SAW's opening days...
Saw $6,658,304 Saw 2 $12,111,972 Saw 3 $14,471,873 Saw 4 $14,755,978 Saw 5 $14,345,874
$13M+ would be a great Friday for Saw VI.

It might be my favorite Saw -- it's certainly a gigantic step up from 4 and 5.

Re: Saw VI reviews
Saw VI rotten tomatoes is now at 42 % after 31 reviews.
Not as bad as the last 2.
I wonder if BKB still thinks PA is going to drop really hard in RT score...It's STILL at 86% with 105 reviews, haha.

I'm surprised actually by PA RT score for the simple fact that this is just not that good and I'll say this: I'd like to revisit this topic 1 year from now to see where people really stand on this movie then cause it has to be the Halloween thing going for it and for all the horror movies everyone around here has seen(and some probably more) I simply can't believe this is the scariest movie some of you folks have ever seen.. Mind boggling I tell you..

Re: Saw VI reviews
The fact that it's Halloween doesn't have anything to do with it. If JENNIFER'S BODY or SORORITY ROW came out around this time nobody would be talking about how scary they were.
Anyway, I saw it and I was quite impressed.

Re: Saw VI reviews
I had absolutely no interest in seeing this in theaters, but the better-than-expected reviews have gotten me interested in this one. Sounds like one of the best in the series. I am positive it can't top the third, but it could easily be the second best from the sound of it. I may see this tonight with my brother who has never seen a SAW movie. He'll probably be really confused since he's not too bright . But he's the one who brought up going to see it to me, and I'll admit I'm now interested in seeing it.

Yeah, he's gonna be really lost when the answers to previous questions start coming. Could be funny for you.

They lost me at #4... Can I see this without seeing #5? Would it even be worth it?

Re: Saw VI reviews
MovieDude wrote: They lost me at #4... Can I see this without seeing #5? Would it even be worth it? I saw this with a group of people, and two of them had never seen any SAW film. There was also another person who had only seen the first three (the rest of us had seen all of them). They said it wasn't that hard to figure out what's going on, even though there are tons of flashbacks to all 5 films. I'm sure it wouldn't be all that bad if you skipped from IV to VI, but I would recommend checking V out beforehand. I rarely enjoy horror/suspense films, but I'm a fan of the SAW series. VI, though my least favorite, I still found to be a good film. There isn't nearly as much blood in it as previous entries, so if you're one of those people who sees the SAW films only for the gore, it may not be worth $10. The plot was good as always, and if Lionsgate wasn't so money hungry for VII and VIII in 3D, they could definitely end the series after this film. I enjoyed it more than Paranormal Activty, which didn't scare me at all by the way. My SAW rankings: SAW SAW II SAW IV SAW III SAW V SAW VI
